OK, it's taken me a long time to get here, but I've just bought my first British bike.

And I should have done it a long time ago. Can't tell you how much I love this Bonnie !

Norman Hyde silencers and rear Hagons all add to the fun.

That's interesting because I was told that it was a Limited Edition by the dealer I bought it from - but have googled it and not found anything the same. It's described as being Black on the V5, which again the dealer told me was ok and nothing to be concerned about.

Long long time ago triumph had a bike called a hurricane and I think you're paint job is based on that
If the log book says black then it's probably a custom job
Might want to send log book away and get it changed

Thanks for your advice all, very much appreciated. I've done the totalcarcheck site checks and will send my V5 off.

Ah .... well .... hmm .... if my memory isn't playing silly buggers with me (again), that is a similar colour scheme to one which was available on late 70s or early 80s Meriden built Bonneville.
Just had a look on Google and it is based on a T140 Bonneville TSX 1982-83. Nice.

Oh, nearly forgot ... welcome to hereabouts!!

Thanks Steve, brilliant work. Makes it seem so much better now that I know what's behind the paint scheme.

Great colours on the bike and I also thought of the hurricane! My thruxton has a custom paint job but the reg doc had it down as original colour although it had been done from new, just send in the ref doc with the main colour as the change and you'll be good

Thank you. Another question for you learned gentlemen on here.

My bike has the Norman Hyde pipes fitted and I was told that it has been remapped accordingly. Does anyone know if this produces more hp or what this remapping would do? Many thanks.....

The remapping if done will not increase power but will ensure that with the aftermarket pipes, the engine still runs at a correct fuel/air mixture.

Normal benefits of a remap are : smoother throttle control, builds up revs quicker, smoother top end, better mpg.

I can come clean now, feeling a little braver.........

After a lifetime of buying Japanese bikes, I decided I was now old enough to buy something "slower" and more sensible. So 12 months ago I bought a Harley Sportster. Please forgive me for my sins.......

Anyway, I have now seen the light brothers and sisters, I have repented and bought the finest brand of motorcycle made on these fine shores (don't tell me that mine was made in Thailand).

It is leagues ahead of the Harley in terms of comfort and handling, but you all knew that anyway.

Thanks all for making me so welcome !
