Seen the ad on TV for this model car kit from DeAgostini, was quite interested and even bought the first part but notice in the small print that to collect all the issues would cost nearly £900 !!. Even though that would be over two years , still seems excessive . What do you guys think about this , has anyone ever seen DeAgostini models , is the quality worth nearly a grand .

i've noticed a lot of those kind of adverts the first mag is usually cheap then then the price goes way up, seems a rip off to me, unless your'e really really interested in the magazines i woudn't bother

I would think that you could probably go out and buy a decent model kit from somewhere for a fraction of that price.

You could buy yourself a bike to "tinker about" with for much less than £900 and get lots more pleasure from it.

Happens all the time, though this company, De Agostini, seem to get good customer reviews. I would find a modellers forum or facebook page and ask there.

I've heard of them pulling the plug on it a couple of times from friends that make models.
Think they are meant to be reasonable quality but the price is very high.
You would be better I think buying a decent scale model from a model shop.
Try looking on Airfix's or Revells webpages to get details of shops that stock them.
Then buy the closest one ( model that is to the one you want to build )
    That surely will be cheaper

Think i might leave it for now , as Dougie mentioned , the magazines are racking up the cost and I probably wouldn't read them. They have a 1/4 scale Honda cb750 on their website which looks good , all metal parts and great detailing . that too is expensive so going on the to do maybe sometime list too . Ah well keep saving for the shed for winter bike tinkering.

Those are bloody good, and if you buy right you can make a few on them too!
I bought a Hislop Ducati before he died for £45, and sold it for £195!
It could even be worth more, I also got a Reynolds Ducati at the same time, made about £35 on that, and another Ducati of Hodgson's, made nothing on that!
The detail is superb for a mass produced model.
