    Hi everyone
Just purchased a brand new thruxton r,has anyone noticed that the clocks have about 2mm of movement, and also when riding that the rev counter is not smooth, for example if I'm sat at 2000 rpm the needle is not quite still as if it's cable operated but with a slight kink in the cable.

    Thanks for any help
    Cheers,jimmy

Hi and welcome to the forum - great choice of bike.
Test rode one when they came out but didn't poke the clocks to see if they moved.
Just checked my Bonnie SE and there is movement there even though they are tightened up as far as I dare. They are mounted against a rubber gasket and I assume they are meant to be like that to absorb vibration. Needle on tacho is stable though.

My T120 clocks have the same movement and it is too much play between the rubber mounts and the plate that holds the clocks. Typical of the lousy quality that Triumph seem to think is acceptable or possibly that their quality control is so lax they aren't even aware of it. Either way it's crap. My rev counter works normally.

Mine were the same and as far as I know they are all like that....I just unbolted them and added neoprene washer to to each of the mounting screws. Just remove the four screws holding the cover and you will see the mounting screws...

    Hi guys
Thanks for the replys, had the same problem on a zx6r I had and a w650 but always thought it was due to age and, maybe that the rubber had shrunk.
The solution was as you guys suggested to put a washer of some sort to fix it,but never thought I would need to did it on a new bike.
That aside the bike is really nice just a few niggles and it will be great.
Got a few things planned but nothing big just tail tidy and some end cans.
Have got a w800 as my other bike that I have put ace bars and Corbin gunfighter seat on and a set a Remus pipes.

    Cheers,jimmy

My clocks keep getting condensation inside so I complained to my dealer about that as well at the same time that I reported my shocks (see other thread). They are being replaced under warranty as were my shocks. The clocks are not arriving at the dealer until March 31. Rear shocks were replaced yesterday. Paying 12K for a bike and having these issues is not right hence my complaints. Thankfully I have received nothing short of exceptional service from my dealer.
