OK all,, of all the bikes you’ve owned which one and only one do you wish you’d kept I know that some of us have had quite a few bikes over the years so it may be hard to decide or even remember what bikes you’ve owned let alone a favourite It doesn’t matter if it’s now a Classic or Modern bike.
It has to be my first Harley, handled great ,stopped great , it had the big bore kit and it would easily do 130mph
1982 Comfortable, economical and the best fairing fitted to ANY bike. Fugly back end and slightly spindly tyres. R100RS consigned to history by parenthood.
A pal of mine had 2 of these one after another. The first was a smoke blue/grey; the second smoked Orange. Both great bikes, well used.
The bike from my past that I wished I'd kept was a Honda Valkyrie f6c, that I bought off a mate. 6 individual pipes, rear air suspension, CBR front brakes and backrests for rider and passenger. Chrome, it had shitloads. And the noise was just AWESOME !!!!
BMW R100RS for me too, WEX497X, Smoke Red, we covered thousands of miles all over Europe on it, never let me down, most likely too heavy for me now though.

I wish I still had my rz500, though it was a bitch to work on and had scary tank slappers from time to time Maybe my CBR 929 that bike was amazing, though I got rid of it because the riding position made my hands go knumb, probably too old for that one Ok my rz350 that’s a silly fun little bike, should have kept that one, though the brakes were terrible Maybe my speed triple it was a great balance of comfort power and brakes and reliability, wait no I still have it, okay I’m going for a ride
I nearly bought a 99 blade, but at the dealers I saw a p4 zx7r and bought that instead, Absolutely loved it, cracking motorcycle but always had the should I have bought the blade feeling. I’ve never ridden one so can’t compare but always loved the blade just because!
Kawasaki KR1S in the best colours, white, green and blue with yellow backgrounds on. What a flyer in it's day it was. Front brake was ace and picked back wheel up no effort. Odd little wobble but that was because it was so light spending as much time off the floor as on it on country lanes.
I had a Black and Gold Guzzi Le Mans II. The carbs had some wire mesh over the inlet, maybe stop a leaf, not much else. The silences were Conti PR, painted black so it was not obvious that the PR stood for Production Racing and they were not silencers so much as amplifiers. Sold it because the clutch pull felt like it was 60lbs, and riding slow in city traffic was a killer. Bought it used in 1987 for about GPB 2,000, I guess it would be worth a lot more now. Picture is not of my bike, just a random internet search result showing what it looked like.
I don’t have any sentimentality about bikes or cars, there has been favourites but I’ve always felt the need to sell and move on. My current Street Triple is without doubt the best bike I’ve owned so far, so no regrets.
Pretty close thing between the Gixxer Thou K5 and the KTM Superduke, but the KTM shades it because of the many bikes I have owned over the years this one was in my garage the longest, and when I had to sell it coz times were hard, I felt really bad for weeks afterwards.
Tough one. Either my first bike a ducati 200 or my first triumph. A 1998 sprint executive. A big old bus, so comfortable and would slowly pull to an indicated 150 as solid as a rock. Sorry no pics....
My 1981 GS850G. I bought her brand new, 2 years old off the showroom floor from the dealer on Elvis Presley Blvd in Memphis Tn. Good power, for the times, and handled like it was on rails!
