    Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me what that small light below the oil light is for?
I recently bought a bonneville from 2002 and was wondering what function it has.

Look like a small LED, perhaps for an alarm. Does it work?

I'm sure it is the immobiliser warning light, I have this on my street twin,it flashes when the bike is locked.

Doesn’t look like something that is factory fitted to me. Added the fitting instructions for the Bonny alarm/ immobiliser.
From them to me it looks like the LED should be in with the speedo

High probability its an alarm LED. When it's not fitted to the twin clock models they looks like this...

Most likely is. If it’s the Triumph one then the instructions I added will show the OP where to look and be able to trace back either from or to the LED light.
Looks like someone fitted the LED to the metal rather than inside the clocks.

Exactly that, immobilizer light, had it on my Bonnie, except mine didn't work so I cant tell you if/when it flash's.
Immobilizer/alarm worked, just not the light.

That's where it's meant to go on the twin clock models, pop out the shiny plastic bit located below the lowest warning light and replace it with the LED...unless you specifically want to go to the extra trouble of fitting inside the speedo ;)

Thanks guys! The LED didn't flash as the connector to the LED was broken.

The ad from the seller didn't mention any alarm but as one of the keys also has alarm buttons, it should be it I guess.. Will have a look for the actual alarm later today. :) thanks again

I could not use mine without using the key pad to turn the alarm/immob on/off, took some getting used to the sequence and what else it did including 4 hazzard indicator lights.

Yeh, it is, Triumphs do a plug so you can take it off, there are 2 types of plug that have just 2 pins that jump the socket and do away with the alarm, only problem was neither fitted mine!
The problem was a duff battery anyway, after fitting a new one I had no more trouble from either the immob. or battery, the LED light never worked anyway.
