I want to replace my budget torque wrench with a decent Norbar. Given the range of settings required for a bike can I take it I'll have to buy two? Have had a look at the Norbar website but can't see one which would work for pad pins through to rear axle bolts.....
Oh, and 3/8 or 1/2?? Or either plus a converter?
    Any thoughts?

This is the one I have I paid a lot more when I bought it. I had to get an adapter to 1/2 inch for my 27mm wheel nut on the tiger.

My job is calibrating torque wrenches for aircraft industy.
Love Norbar, best out there for purpose in my opinion.
    yes need 2
to get accuracy over the range.
    Id look at
    TTi50 3/8 drive10-50Nm or poss TTi35
    TTi150 1/2 drive 30-150Nm
You can get 5mm socket drive for either and a 3/8 to 1/2 converter is handy, you can get a set for a couple of quid on ebay.
Ebay prob your best bet. Some good prices on there.
I made up adapters for pad pins 5.1mm ideal fit.
Not sure if I have any left. Made from 6mm allen socket.
ALWAYS STORE AT THE MINIMUM SETTING.

    Thanks guys.
As I was searching on ebay a newly listed TTi50 popped up for £39 posted. Snaffled it up.... Now for the 150 (or equivalent).
t552 - no wonder I always struggle with the pad pins if they are 5.1!

And a new Allen key is 4.95.
0.15 slack makes a massive difference.

I have made my own (and a few extra) 5.1 from a 6 mm
I gave a couple to my friend a triumph engineer (not techie as that's an insult) with also 5.15mm, 5.2mm 5.25mm incase he gets mullered ones.
He don't now have problems getting them out

I have 3 Norbars. They are quality wrenches.

    0-20NM
    10-60NM
    60-200NM

I bought these especially for the bike. I usually use on anything requiring more than 20NM.

[IMG] I offered some before but no one was interested, I ended up giving them to my friends who had a triumph or at Clive's classes.
Now the machine I made them on has been removed. Progress!
