I've done over 40k mikes on tiger 955i's.
The Road pilots seem to me to be just that little bit better than the others.
    But others may think differently.

I have Bridgestone Excedras on my Thunderbird 1600... I'm impressed with them.

After a bit of research on available sizes, I got Dunlop Sportsmart 3s. One of my local suppliers gave me a very good deal on them, £185 the pair , fitted and balanced. They feel very planted after the previous dual purpose tyres which were Pirellis I think.

harder to fit though - gone are the days of heating a tyre and then gingerly putting it on with tyre levers trying not to pinch the inner tube........ alas

Cheers for that putting my mind at rest the Michelin on the Bonneville and Thruxton were indeed the same tyres tubed or tubeless I figure no tube in a spoked wheel and the bugger will leak

Had Anakee 2, put about 10,000-15,000 miles on them. Had Anakee3 mounted last. I think the 3's ride a little better.

A tube in any tubless tire works just fine. My Tiger is not my only spoked bike.

Have just loaded a pair of Battlax T31's with tubes on my 01 Tiger and they've transformed the bike! Never realised that road rubber on it would be soooooo good! Huge grip, smoother ride and more confidence all round, especially in the wet. Have now done about 400 miles on them and have to say I absolutely love them. Would definitely have another pair!
Edit: Just found this review of them, and seems to verify what I had already said!

Always done me well in the past aside from the early dual compound which just felt a bit off but I think everyone ended up in that boat lol

Ding ding. Win a prize. Yup you’re spot on. Cheers again for the manual. Made life a lot easier, quite a few oddities with the a tiger compared with my previous Japs. My mechanic was even enamoured with the head race bearing set up lol.
