My current steed, a Beemer R1150GSA is old and tired now. So am I come to that. I am looking to treat myself to a Thruxton R as a sort of retirement present. Does anyone have a source or figures indicating what colour is the most popular? I don't really have much of a preference but it would be interesting to see what the world seems to prefer. My last Triumph was a 1200 Daytona, the 4-cylinder speed machine in a gorgeous peacock blue colour. Don't think it'd suit the Thruxton R however! Cheers
Judging by all the pics the silver looks most popular. Might be some new ones coming out soon, you never know.
Silver here and my favourite, but I really like the green, red & white. Not hot on the matt black though.
Initially I thought the red and orange clashed badly. But the more I see them the more I'm coming over to the stand-out brashness of them.
I'm still glad i chose flat black. Perfick. As said above, light grey seems commonest but i ain't seen ANY others on the road .
It looks like Diablo Red is no longer an option. But the grey (arctic silver or whatever T call it) is a) popular and b) somewhat bland. Since only the tank and the seat cowl are "coloured" I might do a Doug and get a re-spray. The world's my oyster! British Racing Green in a depth paint and gold flecks or somesuch... need a white "Triumph" set of tank badges, dont' want black or grey. Meantime, I just want it. The waiting list seems to be getting longer and longer.
Seen the silver, the red and the green (which I like the best but it's not an "R") Silver is most popular it seems.
Why buy new ? About 4 popped up on eBay yesterday, some with extras and a few hundred miles. The saving would pay for one hell of a paint job..
My black one gets admired everywhere I take it. Never had anyone who sees it in the flesh say they don't like the colour.
