T-bird 1700 Twin

Can someone tell me what the 4 holes on the front of the cylinders below the heads are for? I was told
they have to do with oil pressure. Thanks

 

Not sure, now I will have to investigate...

 

Thanks. There are 2 holes on each cylinder. I was told they go about 3/4 of the way into the cylinder. About 1/4 inch in diameter.
