Being located in the Chicago burbs the only thing the Speed Twin is doing these days is getting some minor updates. Just added the Tec Bike Part Tidy Tail and replaced the faux silver carb covers with the black pieces.

I like the black faux carb covers better, slims the bike up and doesn't look broken up. I am going to find a way to add a red accent to the swoosh. Since it is a cut out I thinkI can find some red plastic sheet to glue on the back. ST Carb TT 1.jpg ST Carb TT 2.jpg

I was thinking that, did you paint the entire part or about 75%? I want it to be black along the edges. Any chance you can shoot a pic of the cover off? What type of paint did you use?

    Hi Tim
    Love the seat, ho
    Hi Tim
Cool seat , is it from Corbyn seat's ?
Looking to move across from my Thruxton to a Speed twin and have been looking at the whole idea of getting the bike more comfortable for me and the wife. Your thought's on the seat would be much appreciated ! And what you thought of the comparison with the stock seat.

Yes, it is a Corbin saddle. I really like it. Looks wise I may have the passenger section covered in black instead of the faded black it currently has. Other than that the bench seat hasn't been on the bike since the day the Corbin arrived.

The more I look at your bike the more I like it. That seat makes it look very muscular and you have just the right accents to go with the black tank. Very clean look overall.

Thanks Timothy, easy n cheap to do with the red bits :) a better pic of the red bars. I had the red Rizoma 50mm high bars on my speed triple i swapped in for the twin and decided to fit them on my speed twin but they were just a little to high so i fitted some lower LSL risers and i'm now happy with the position, the red bar ends are a triumph part :)

Many thanks Tim, some useful info
With the extra seat hight did you need any bar risers or were you OK, I am around 5ft 11, so just trying to get an idea ?

ST Bars.jpg I lowered my bars. I'm on the high side of 5'-11". I replaced the stock risers with Rizoma 40mm high risers. I like a more aggressive forward lean.

Pottsy, didn't really give a review in my last posting, so here are pro's and con's of the Corbin for me -

Pro's - Much more comfortable, don't slide off the seat when you wack the the throttle, IMO easier to move around on when riding the twisties at speed, did I mention a lot more comfortable and allows you to personalize the seat. The narrowness of the front is much better on my thighs, the bench seat just seemed to wide and would rub my thighs red after 150+ mile rides.

Con's - Looks, from certain angles it looks big and kind of mucks up the clean lines the stock seat gives. I may send it back and have the bum bump reduced in hight a little and moved forward about a .500". Making the passenger section all black I think would also help looks.

With that said I get a lot of compliments on the looks of the seat the pro's far out way the con's when your on the bike and riding it.

I actually think the seat compliments the bike's looks nicely
hardest part for me on the corbin is picking a color !
