Fitting one this weekend to my Bonneville Newchurch, Where have members fitted this kit? Obviously I don't want the reservoir to be overly conspicuous. Thanks in anticipation. Curly
Hi Curly if you have a look at my 'thoughts and mods' post I put a photo on there. Basicaly I managed to fit the small race (I think it's called) model reservoir behind the left panel. If you get the standard one they recommend fixing to the left rear down tube where it will be visible.
Thanks John T, I did read your post and like what you've done, very tidy indeed! I have got the larger standard reservoir though, Looks as though I'll be following the Scott Oiler recommended installation as there seem to be no other practical alternatives. It will make chain adjustment a bit of a fiddle, but that procedure will be much less frequent once the superb oiler gets to work! Thanks again John T. Curly
I have the v-System on my 2011 SE and that is fitted behind the left side panel and apart from the feed pipe on the sprocket its barely noticeable. If I get time over the weekend I'll get a few pictures and post them for you.
It may be a bit late if you fitted the oiler yesterday but this is how mine was done. It was fitted when I got the bike but it's not difficult to work out. They have relocated the solenoid so that it just sits on the airbox breather snorkel and used a cable tie to to attach the oiler holder to the solenoid bracket. If you need more images let me know.
Those of you that have fitted oiler on efi bikes have any of you used the vac operated one? Looking on scottoiler Web it shows connecting to a vacancy point I don't seem to have . Cheers Andy
I fitted one to my 2010 T100 and it worked very well indeed. Re the vacuum take-off points there are two possibilities, both on the throttle bodies.
Andy S, if you look on the scott oiler website you will find model specific fitting instructions that even I managed to follow, they are really good and will address all your concerns, they did mine!
Eric H, thanks for that photo, very interesting, however I've done the job in accordance with scott oilers website model specific fitting guide, at first I thought it was a bit conspicuous, but it's grown on me and I'm quite happy with it now. Thanks again for your input, much appreciated. Curly
I looked on the scottoiler Web site and vac point shown on their instructions doesn't seem to be on my bike. Andy
Curly, I have a 2011 triumph america. Scottoiler Web shows my model but unless I'm missing something (OK don't all shout at once I'm probably missing lots but back to the oiler) I can only see one vac point on each injector / dummy carb and it doesn't look to be in the place that they show? If anyone has fitted an oiler to 865 injection engine what point did they use. Thanks, Andy
I think mine is using the inlet manifold from the RH throttle body. There seems to be a threaded brass connector on the top of the alloy manifold, now I don't know if this is a feature of the 2011 SE or if it was done by the previous owner. I can take a picture and post it here if it helps.
Eric, a picture says a thousands words as the saying goes, if you would be good enough to post a picture l would appreciate it. Thanks, Andy
This is how it looks and it does go to the Scottoiler - Ive also included one of the route mine takes under the seat. I've lifted the pipe so that you can see the direction but it sits behind the RH throttle body.
Mine connects to the left hand side! I pulled off a black plastic sheath and pushed on the elbow fitting vacuum pipe. 2015 865EFi Pretty well hidden just below a large shiny black electrical connector of some sort which in turn is just below the fast idle pull out control. Photos are beyond my level of expertise but I'll try to arrange when I get home from work later on.
I'm away at the moment earning some brownie points by taking my wife to the lakes for a few days. Once I get home I'll look again. Thanks Andy
