Received a recall notice for my 2016 T-120 (safety recall# SB541, NHTSA# 16V163). It seems the fuel pump harness connection is too close to the fuel line.
Triumph will make the necessary repairs at no cost, but it's just a small hassle to trailer the bike to the dealer and leave it a few days.
Thank you. No probs for me really as my bike is going to go in for a service in Jan anyway. My dealer will collect and return the bike to me so well happy with that. I'm getting a black rocker cover fitted as well as I don't think the chrome rocker cover looks right.
I was going to put the bike to bed for the worst of winter today but as this recall is about fuel and a (very slight) fire hazzard I called the dealer and its booked in for Friday. One last ride this year then
My bike has already been put to bed for the winter. Contacted dealer and the fix will only take an hour. Will get it done in the spring
Mine's booked in to have the fix on Weds. Luckily the weather seems to be taking a turn for the less-cold then !
Had mine done yesterday, the sub-loom lives inside the tank. Took just over an hour one cup of tea and several dips into the tins of Christmas choccy Unrelated but when I got home, the throttle was sticking. 30 miles of heated grips I hope this isn't going to be another failure that will keep repeating through winter
We're the grips on Hi or Lo? I've ridden 100s of miles on Lo without issue. Have never needed Hi as yet.
They were on hi for about 30 mins... will go over to my lockup and check the bike later. They will be stone cold now and see if problem is resolved
I do recall now that when I collected the bike last August, during the 'walk through' the dealer said something like "don't use 'Hi' for very long, you'll not need it". I wonder if they knew something?
Same recall for the Street Twin, got a letter from Triumph today, needs a new fuel pump sub harness SB541, takes half an hour, bike is winter snug so will call up and see if I can defer to the spring.
Went to check bike today.....it's back to the dealer tomorrow Throttle still sticking but at least its not down to the heaters ! Looks like I will get to see how good Nikwax is for reproofing your kit..forecast is shite
I think the grip is rubbing on the switch console. Loosen the screws and give the grip a little twist and pull. It should free it up
Ok no more sticking (no more cruise control) Well it didn't appear to be on the end weight, but is now free and has a 2 mm clearance Also looks like partial success on my jacket, with a total failure on the trousers. Looks like I will be retiring my 9 yr and 65000 mile wets, not saying I'm tight or owt but they were so comfortable. Now to find some more...........
