I'm a new Bonneville T100 owner and love it. I've otherwise ridden a BMW R75/5 (Still do) and Honda CB750 (don't). I have an old pair of Craven paniers on the boxer twin and love the look; does anyone know which bags work best /look best for the new Bonnies?
Hi HT and welcome to the Triumph Asylum - Nursie will be along soon with your meds. When I had my T100 I used Oxford throw-over bags and they worked fine, particularly on long distance trips like 3000kms.
Hello Tessasman and welcome to the forum Last year there was a new member on the forum from Norway and he had fitted a set of Craven panniers to his T100 ? which gave it a period look. It looked very nice.
Slightly different, but I bought genuine Triumph olive waxed/leather panniers for my Thruxton 'R' for touring. Unfortunately the bike was left out in the rain for a few hours which ruined them. The leather has lifted away from the stitched areas. Didn't even turn a wheel in the rain. They've been sent back to Ongar motorcycles Essex to plead my case for refund or renewal. So warning! Do not buy these unless you are going to store them in your shed!
I would thoroughly recommend a trailer to anyone....it's the future ....but I'm not making another one
Thanks lads. The bonney is my first 'new' vehicle and who knew ABS braking (and actually knowing how much gas is in the tank) was so awesome? And I'm a sucker for the creamsicle color combo.
have a look at SW Motech panniers, I put a thread on the Bonneville site and there are some interesting opinions on there. I'm seriously considering a pair for my Newchurch. Curly
Have you heard about the Iron & Resin Terrain II Panniers ? I have 2 myself, and I dead tried them under hours of pouring rain... Awesome looking, awesome resilience. Not a drop went through. Here, here, here, here and here !
Welcome from Germany! I saw Samuel's panniers at the GMU and I agree with him: they look really classy and kept his stuff dry even though it was raining cats and dogs... Me presonally, I have good experiences with SW Motech. Their way of fixing them to the bike is perfect and very unobtrusive when the bags are not in place! Cheers, Daniel
I hadn't heard of the motech bags but I like their look! Seems simple to install too. Any regrets motech owners? Snuck out for an early morning ride to the thrill of admirers at the local coffee hole.
Like the description 'coffee hole'. lol You could be made an honorary Yorkshireman using lingo like that.
