Can't say I'm a fan of policing by camera, but at least this is tackling a real problem.

It never ceases to amaze me how close other vehicles travel.

It's not like the 'Two Second Rule' is exactly complicated and difficult to remember.

Keeping a safe distance also lets you control speed with the throttle so you aren't dabbing the brakes all the time too.

Yep something I learnt a long time ago, if you leave sufficient space between you and the vehicle in front you can not only create the time to react to changing circumstances you get extra braking time. As you say not difficult....

Link not loading for me? I'm guessing a camera that detects tailgaters?
Does it detect the twats that hog outside lanes?

Not sure why it isn't loading for you Andy (maybe settings?), but yes that is exactly right a new camera that detects tailgaters....

    I AM that tailgater
On dual carriageways and motorways it’s so Feckin infuriating when people pull out to overtake something and then just Feckin sit in the outside lane for Feckin miles and miles oblivious to the fact that they can move left and let arseholes like me get past
    That’s why I tailgate
GET OUT OF THE FECKIN WAY:mad:

Driving an underpowered safety restricted vehicle that struggles to maintain momentum on slopes let alone hills I get so frustrated by vehicles overtaking then slowing down in front of me. Normally in places my limited power won't allow me to re overtake or finding them speeding up when I finally do get alongside them to get passed. Tailgating is frequently forced on me. Definitely get annoyed by vehicles diving into the gap if I am travelling a safe distance behind the vehicle in front.

It's annoying but I got fed up feeling angry about the poor driving to I just ignore it now and focus on my own. What I don't like is the uncontrolled increase in our surveillance society.

Did you see that someone has been painting messages on the motorway bridges near Manchester “Why are you staying in the middle lane, moron?”

I used to drive back from Edinburgh every week after work. I didn’t need signs to tell me I was approaching Manchester, I could tell by the boy racers and general lowering of driving standards. No offence to any Mancunians here.

Generally use 3 seconds rule for cars and 4 seconds for bikes and trucks.
Had a moron on my tail when two-up with Mrs going downhill through twisties, was greatly concerned they would not be able to stop in a Range Rover

Don’t you mean the safety of a polystyrene cup that just fragments? Cheese is too forgiving and better on the tongue!

If they put as much effort into stopping people driving in the wrong lane I think that would eliminate 75% of tailgating, but then again we’d be talking safety over revenue.
