Guys, How many miles do you lot get out of a tank of fuel? My first tank full was about 135 miles, what do you think? Do you think having the British custom shotguns on makes a lot of difference? Questions, Questions
The most I've ever got is 147miles and was pretty nervous by that stage...normally for mine is 120-140 with the fuel light on!
Hi Tone, obviously fuel consumption depends on loads of factors plus fuel range (miles per tank)in addition depends on how far you are prepared to push it, after the low fuel light has come on. If you fill the tank until you've seen the level of petrol, then run it down to the light, then fill up again to the same level you'll know exactly how many litres you've used by comparison to the theoretical max 16litrs . So if you refill with 11 ltrs it's a reasonable assumption that there is still roughly 3-ish litrs left in. With this info, you can work out how much distance you can actually do,if you need to stretch it. With my modified T100 I would refill at on average 220kms (137.5 miles) and I would put in on average 11 litres. However on occasion I have done 270kms and still only put in 12-ish litres. You just need to experiment a bit with your bike - 135 mls is a good start point though.
Thanks guys, I am finding it hard getting used to not being able to see the bottom of a tank, and no reserve tap, I'm used to old British bikes.
