Hi All, Was wondering if any other owners have had this problem? I've got a 2011 se and when the bike has been stood for a day or two sometimes on switching the ignition on I get a sound that can only be described as sounding like jet engine, not quite as noisy but it is louder than it should be. Now I know it is probably the fuel pump priming the injection system - I just want to know if there is a simple fix or is something wearing out. It doesn't do it every time though and I don't think there is a pattern ie not temperature specific or anything like that. Thanks in advance.
Wonder if it'll be quieter with a fuller tank? If so it'll be the pump. Mine screeches if not used for a while.
Thanks for that Tigercraft and a very good point. I've just been out to record the sound on my phone but sods law kicked in and despite being stood for 2 day it did the normal "printer sound" :?) I'll make a mental note over the next week or so as to whether the tank is full or not when I switch her on.
It looks like your assumption was right TC, the noise does seem to coincide with the tank being half full (depending on your point of view) Thanks for that Tigcraft.
