If anyone is interested I have taken in a Honda CB1300. I just got it yesterday from an old local guy that has had a mini stroke. He doesn't feel confident any more on the bike and is saddened to part with it. It hasn't seen a wet road nor winter in 11 years. Bike is mint with 12k miles and will come with a host of extras including a brand new back tyre still in wrapping it doesn't need. 2005 with Service History and ABS, crash bars, flyscreen, heated grips, cover etc. £3500. Bargain. It rides smooth as silk. Dealers are selling Cat D bikes at £4k and abused 30 and 40k milers for way more. Would make a cracking tourer/commuter. PM if interested. Apologies for the unflattering pictures.
I'm not after one myself, but somebody is going to get themselves one lovely bike. Can't you convince the guy to hold on to it until he feels sufficiently recovered to ride again, such a shame when someone has looked after a bike as lovingly as that.
I had a 2003 model for a couple of years and loved it, handled really well for a big lump and even tho the motor was full of torque I still went for the sixth gear that isn't there. Only downside was the laquer on the gen cover failed spoiling the finish, it wasn't even a serious winter commuter either. Good bike.
Thanks for the replies guys. I have the V5 here and the old chaps signature as current owner. He has a heart problem too so it had to go. It'll do no harm sitting in my garage and I've insured it anyway for all it was (£100).It's not advertised as such (eBay/bike trader etc) so if anyone is interested fire me a pm. 100% safe buy. Brian.
That is a great looking bike at a bargain price, I am glad I don't have the room for it! Good Luck, a great bike for someone.
