Hi all,I've been lurking the forum for a month or two and have taken the plunge and ordered a Thruxton R this week. I've been riding for forty plus years on and off, the last seven years on a Harley XR1200 so the Thruxton's going to be a bit of a change (hopefully).
The new bike should be with me in a couple of weeks, I'm really looking forward to it.
    Cheers,
    Paul.

Welcome in, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the R,
But if you are I’m only up the road from you and I’m sure we could come to some arrangement

Welcome to the forum Paul. The R is the best looker of them all I think so enjoy it and ride safe. May see you around if you are in North Hampshire.

Thanks chaps, I'm sure the R will be fun and I hope to get out and about on it in the coming year meeting my fellow trumpet owners.
    Paul.

    Hi Paul,

you cannot beat the new Thruxton in looks (IMHO); design-wise, it is one of the most well balanced and aesthetically refined motorcycles, I ever saw.
;) and during the time we wait for yours and pics of it, I place one of mine just for all of our eyes to be enjoyed.

...if you consider lowering the handlebars and add the fairing, do a thorough test ride first.
It looks stunning, but when going slow in all those villages might hurt a bit (just my personal experience :relieved:)

    Enjoy the bike!

    Cheers from Germany :p

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Test rode the Thruxton R - what a bike! Might have considered one if I hadn't just bought the Tiger.

Hi all, picked up the Thruxton today. I did 50 very cold miles but I love it, I just can't stop looking at it. I'm so chuffed. Hopefully I have attached a picture of the old and new bikes together.
