Dunno about reserved for regulars, that seems a bit too cliquish ... but definitely limited to only those booking all three nights, or at least limited for the first three months of booking say. It would be a shame, given the limited beds in Bellingham, for a three-night-GMUer to miss out due to someone booking only the middle night of three say. There's nothing to stop those able to only make a night or two from booking a nearby hotel or b&b.
I actually felt guilty eating the food knowing how little we each had to contribute towards the cost and all the hard work and effort that went into it. Even tho the food was first class and I'd have it now if I could ( I'm hungry) in the interest of fairness to the other bikers would it kill us to eat chips and sausages for a few days or pop in for dinner when out on one of the rides, or for those in the bunk house order in a curry. We can still meet up in the house for tea, coffe and a chat.
Are they all ok about missing the bike runs? I would be happy to pay a bit more for a carry out meal I'm sure we would get a good deal if we ordered 30 carry out meals?
I'm with DD on the meal thing. It's become a bit of GMU ritual. But Shirley, there are limits to what we should expect of our mates. Keep it simple as DD says. No-one would be any the less impressed.
There were more than 13 in the bunkhouse in Wales. I know of at least three people not on the official list. Plus we cooked more than 13 breakfasts each morning.
Myself and Lisa will be booking the bunkhouse for next year's GMU as soon as we have sorted where it's going to be. We might go the day before and stay in a hotel that night as it's nice just to get up and chill out on the first day. But will be doing the bunkhouse for the rest of the time. Tucker and Lisa
Can you imagine some of this lot trying to eat spaghetti bol especially after a few drinks. They’d be more spaghetti wrapped around their necks, sticking out of T shirts and Dilli would probably end up with it on his head, remember GMU 2017 Good idea DD.
What about a decent chilli if you want to keep it simple and avoid having folks stuck in the kitchen all day? Like spag bol it's easy to prepare in large quantities and can be had with rice and fresh bread.
