Glad he is not writing any more songs. Thought all of them were beyond awful.

As a bloke I reckon he had a good time, troubled though they may have been.

He did write some good songs, but try as he did i don't think he could ever shake off his time with Wham! i don't think it was cool for a guy to say they liked George Michael as all his fans were all female or gays (not that there is anything wrong with females or gays!!)..it's bit like admitting you liked Donnie Osmond or David Cassidy!,I've never really listened to much of his stuff apart from the hits he had, which i thought were ok,I've got the BBC program about his live show in Paris in the background and if that was a reflection of his latest work it's not really my cup of tea,i imagine it would go down a storm in France as their "music" is much more about the lyrics and the music is secondary/incidental

It's nice to see some compassion on here, the man was an artist who had a troubled existence. We are not all the same - it would be a really terrible world if we were. His generosity that has been acknowledged now , would of had a gagging order to prevent unwanted press leading to a begging society. As you said RIP imagine the concert upstairs - Freddie Mercury, Bowie and Michael ( bet the tickets would fly out )
