Scrambler Ebc Sintered Pads

Anyone tried EBC sintered pads (HH) in their Street Scrambler or similar? Due a pad change and wondered what people thought of them?

Got them in my Sprint 1050. No complaints, got them on a bit of a deal too from Sportsbikeshop. I'd buy them again is all I can say

 

First thing I put on any new bike I get.
Regardless of the condition of the old ones.

 

Same here, first job on any used bike, new HH pads.

 

I have those EBC HH on my ST 1050. Nothing to complain about. Very good brake power with enough feeling. Like them

 

Got them on my T120, used em on any bike I have owned

 

Got them on my 2005 Speed Triple. Excellent.

I've got a Thruxton 1200 S and was thinking about replacing the front pads with EBC HH ones. I spoke to the dealer service dept and they didn't think I'd notice much difference unless I wanted to do track days. I'm still tempted to try them though.

 

It's not only on the track you need to break hard sometimes. Give them a go mate, you shan't be disappointed.

 

I’ve fitted them to most of my bikes, better initial bite for sure, I had to break hard on my TT1200 recently (original pads) and although I scrubbed enough speed off I was beginning to get brake fade, so I’ll get some HH’s before she goes back on the road.

 

I fitted them, wouldn’t have anything else now.
I do get a buzzing noise under breaking, others on here have had the same. It’s not intrusive or annoying, something to do with the type of floating disc you have.

 

Yes, sort of a hissing noise, they all do that sir! , same on the bikes I’ve fitted them to.

 

I have the same HH pads and they do make that hissing noise, but it’s hardly audible over Tigger’s three pot engine whine.

Most importantly, they do stop you quicker.

 

I've done 5000 miles on my original pads from new, if I switch to EBC HH pads do I need to clean off the discs in any special way as the pad compound is different? Also, dealer mentioned disk discolouration, though not too worried about that if they brake better.

 

They do recommend using a brillo pad type thing on the disks to clean them up a bit before you change them to ebc (or any other I should think ) but only a 5 min wipe over. Nothing much.
Never bothered myself so I can’t vouch for it but same as others have said, WAY better all round.

 

I didn’t bother with any Pre-install prep (other than cleaning the pistons and the like). Just don’t ride the bike like a hoon for a few miles to help them bed in and wear to the scouring on the disks.

Once run in, you’ll be doing amazing stoppies...

 

I think I'll give them a try, the original pads still have some meat left on them but probably a good time to change, be nicely bedded in for Spring, that is if we can ride anywhere by then.
