The exhaust on my new Sprint GT is not terrible but it could do with a bit more character. I'm considering fitting a Delkevic exhaust. This is the 350mm round BSau model, whatever that means. There are a couple of YT videos showing this exhaust gives the GT a nice sound without being antisocial. I'd like a bit of pop n burble on the over run. I can't find reviews though. Anyone got any feedback? I'm not particularly bothered about more power. I just want it to provide a bit more road presence and sound more characterful.
I'm considering the Delkevic option for my '24 plate STRS. I had Delkevic downpipes on my Honda VFR800 and my son had their exhaust can on his Tuono V4. They are well manufactured and come with all the necessary bits and pieces to do a proper assembly job, even a tube of sealant paste. The only thing stopping me from buying a system for my STRS is that I've been spending quite a lot of dosh on my other bikes recently, so the old piggy bank is getting quite low.
I had Leo Vinci's on my vtr firestorm quite a few years ago now. I loved em at the time but im nit sure my neighbours did. They were too loud! I'm on the fence with the delkevics. Website says 100db with baffle in. Seems quite noisy to me.
Exhaust is on. Not a big job to fit. The Delkelvic kit comes with crush tube, decent clamps etc. The new muffler does not sound too loud at idle on the drive (baffle in). It is a lot smaller and lighter. I have struggled to get a good airtight seal, even though the kit came with a crush sealing tube that slid over the pipe. And a small tube of gasket sealer. I played around with the angles but I can still feel it blowing slightly. Im not sure how to sort this..? Taking the bike out for a proper run tomorrow. Ill report back on how she sounds.
Just been out for 1st tide with new can on. Very happy! Bike sounds 'proper' now. Bit of road presence. Lovely growl with a bit of pop and burble on the over run. Louder than standard can but not anti social. Baffle has been left in and I feel no need to remove it. Money well spent!
@Stu9000 Forget the sealer they send it is rubbish and ends up like the one you took of. Get some silicon sealant does not have to be a heat resistant one and rub it in around the can and on the downpipe and it works a treat and if for any reason you want to take the can of its made easier.
