So she finally found a place in my garage. My first ditchpumping Rubbercow First impressions? Well it is good that I actually type this, because talking to you about the /5 would be hard due to all the drooling... For the next 1000 klicks, I have to run her in (1st/50, 2nd/70, 3rd/90, 4th/110, 5th/125 and finally 6th with 140)... Are they kidding me? Never went up to 50 Km/h in first gear Anyway: the engine is a peach! The sound is very throaty and brassy at the same time. Suspension up front a little stiffer than on the Svartpilen and in the rear comfortable with a touch of sportiness. When you start those air cooled boxers, they lean softly against your right leg due to the counter-torque effect. A very pleasant sensation. You sit a little more ‘collected’ than on the Bonnie, but still quite upright and relaxed. The seat is fine as well although I just took her home (about 60 Km) yesterday. And today the sun is out, and so will I be It is Unificationschnickschnackday today in Germania and so they gave us a holiday! Guess all the other kids will be out to play as well I try to behave like a proper Ungerman should...
Congrats mate, I love my R9T I’m sure you will too. It’s a lovely engine, lots of low down grunt for a nice relaxed ride. Just hope that the seat is a bit more forgiving than the standard one on mine.
WingLad Yes it is a beauty. I can see by that grin you are loving it. Now go and get that running in done. Ride Safe & Enjoy Joe.
Love it Daniel! I'm here at my local BMW dealers (Bahnstormer) getting the Racer it's 600 mile service. Look what I found I wonder if I can do a deal?
Did think of purchasing a r9t but you can’t load proper luggage onto it so it would be only a gimmick bike
No worries: the HD sits next to it in my hangar They are bikes with loads of character and very different ones too! I love them both...
I got some Krauser luggage for mine, it works great. Just 4 bolts to fit the mounting frame and the bags slip and latch on. You can’t see it very clearly here unfortunately. They’re C-bow luggage, Hepco&Becker make them I think, then they’re rebranded
Lovely bike and colour Daniel, enjoy and hurry up and get the run in period done before the real bad weather starts
I am 1.80M tall. So more or less average!? But the bike has a pretty low profile line. If you stand before it though, it definitely doesn‘t look tiny
Holy moly, brother. All that stuff, it looks like you are moving! And the RnineT is a very satisfying ride. I enjoyed it very much, more than I thought I would. The power delivery is rorty and brilliant and the build quality top notch. It's not just a hipster bike, it's excellent. Sort of BMW's version of the Speed Twin, y'know, copying the lads from Hinckley.
Yeah, that’s from when me and Mrs Freck toured Scotland for our honeymoon. I volunteered to take almost everything on my bike as last time we went she came off hers at slow speed and broke her shoulder. The extra weight of luggage on her bike may have contributed to the topple so we didn’t want to risk it again. The R9T is great but the suspension does apparently benefit from some aftermarket tweaks. It’s a little poorly damped as standard, although I haven’t changed anything with mine as yet.
