I covered my bike to soon after running it in winter. Cover just touched head pipe to close to head. Used chrome polish which did take off cover residue but left pipe looking like sh#t. any recommendations?[IMG] IMG_1993.JPG

Last resort try rubbing over it lightly with aluminium kitchen foil. Auntie Google reckons she heard it does the trick.

Never heard of that one Rich, certainly worth a try,
if I recycle the foil from the grill pan it should help protect it as well with the bacon fat.

I've heard other people saying it too but whenever you ask to see pictures they seem to be rather thin on the ground.
So would be interested to see what your results are like Mick.

If you're trying the autosol get yourself a strip of soft stretchy cloth, like a tshirt, out solvol on pipe wind the cloth round the pipe once and pull each end alternatively if that makes sense, hard to explain in print really but I'm sure you know what I mean, bit like a pulley up and down movement, I'll stop now I've confused myself!
