I'm considering changing the stock exhaust on a Street Twin. Has anyone already done this that could recommend a good aftermarket exhaust?

I like the sound of the Arrow exhaust that is available for the scrambler and looking to get something close to that on a Street Twin without having to go for a high exhaust like the Vance & Hines 'off road' as I understand that rules out having a pillion.

I see TEC offer one and also from Triumph the US spec Vance & Hines without baffles.

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum Daniel,
I haven't changed the OEM exhausts yet so can't really advise you on this.
I am sure someone will be along shortly with advice.
Meanwhile look on the Technical forum or search as I am sure this subject has been discussed at length.

I have V&H on mine Daniel but not high level one's. They just sit where the OE one's were.

    Sound great too :)

Hi Reggie how have you got on with the V&H pipes:

    1. what do they sound like?
    2. do they improve performance?
    3. do you have any video with sound?

I'm thinking about swapping mine and it would be great to get a sound test.

Having test rode a standard Street Twin and subsequently buying one with V&H pipes I reckon it was money well spent. There is a difference in sound but I wouldn't know about performance gains as I normally just potter along at no more than 60-70mph.

Sorry I don't have any video footage of them but if I meet you out and about one day you'll hear me that's for sure.

Wouldn't say I was NW though fella........ I'm 10 miles South of Edinburgh on the A701 but I'm regularly South of the A69 when I'm on runs (which will hopefully start again soon :))

Ok thanks for that. Have you considered coming down to the GMU in Northumberland in July; could be a good excuse to show off your cans? I will be there on the Friday and Saturday.

Going only by youtube vids the TEC ones sound pretty good for half the price of the V&H or Arrow.

I went for the V&H 2 into 1 high level exhaust in the end. Looks and sounds amazing!

Speaking with George at TEC he has in mind similar, but other stuff is priority so doesn't know when he'll get round to it. So I confirmed at the Bobber launch that I'll have the one high V&H Woburn have still in stock. Looking forward to annoying the neighbours ;)

Unlikely Wessa as I'm not long back from my Euro bike trip then. See how it goes though.

Thanks Rich, you prompted me to go to youtube to have a look. Found the following videos. The first one is on the V&H exhausts and the second on the TEC exhausts.

From these two I think I prefer the TEC ones, I would be interested in others views?

South of France Sam, with a tiny bit of Switzerland & Italy on the way. (following the Route des Grand Alps to Menton)

Not on the Street Twin though ........ my other bike will be called into action for the trip. Eurotunnel booked out 22 June and back 2 July just before The Tour de France cycling gets properly underway.

Sounds awesome, to be honest you'll be better off on the v storm, as well as the street twin did for me, the little 8 valves didn't appreciate the long straight motorways to much :-/ but other than that i couldn't complain about the bike at all :) great for nipping around the french coastline and country lanes

Yip there's no way I could (or would want to) ride my ST to the South of France. I did read about your trip last year and when the day comes for me to do Northern France I'll gladly take the Triumph. I reckon it'd be great fun pottering down the French coastline as you say.
