This naming of Winter storms is sissy stuff. I grew up in New England and we had Fall coastal hurricanes, Nor'easter blizzards and "polar express" wind and cold. It was Winter and wind, cold and snow are expected. Naming these storms is mildly retarded at best. Now a tropical hurricane with all the wind speed, storm surge and flooding....I respect the history of giving them names.

Seeing as I am not Obama I shall not apologize for any shit ideas coming from across the pond here. I always like my ideas . I must agree that television programming is 90% crap these days. Talking of weather (and I can't remember what this thread is about now anyway), all this crap about global warming being the cause of extreme weather business bugs me. According to what the experts say it's all down to CO2 emissions. Crap, according to all my teachers, books and scientists, the weather has ALWAYS been changing since the earth was born. So why should it stop changing now ?

We got off lightly here in the sunny south - but it still brought a tree down and blocked the A32 nearby.
Still very windy riding over to Salisbury during the afternoon especially on the M27 and A36 - Mr wobbly Tiger!

 

we got off lightly too,but i saw on the news all the chaos on the M80 near Cumbernauld,although looking at the conditions they didn't look too bad, and if everyone just drove sensibly i don't think there would have been any problems there
