    You used to play too?
Many years ago I used to play recreational level at Solihull. I was one of the daft buggers who played as a netminder - more armour and a bigger stick to slash at the opposition with!

Played in D, at Sutton-in-Ashfield mostly, but also Sheffield, Nottingham, Bradford and Dumfries. Was never brilliant, but I couldn't have check!!!! :D

Minor brain injury stopped me for a while, but a knee injury caused by a fall whilst someone had there stick through my skate stopped me eventually. Played on for a couple of years, but spent all week limping after playing. :( so gave up couple of years back.

Don't bounce so well once wrong side of 40:D

I did love hitting on open ice, my speciality. :D:D:D

I'll always remember one of the guys who played left D claiming being a netminder was easy - 'you only stand around' was his comment, so one training session I loaned him my kit and he had a go.
After we all took high shots against him he retreated to behind the net and decided to leave it to us nutters who's job it was to deliberately got in the way of those pucks!
Happy days, but probably like you it took its toll on my body - I ended up with blown cartilage in my knee which needed an operation.
Here's something you'll relate to - why is it whenever you've just kitted up you need to pee. Never easy when you've got Tackla's and that most important piece of protective kit on! (At least you didn't need to unstrap massive leg pads).

Suicide Squad - not worth a watch. Poor character's, but better than the plot.

Plot has more holes than a warehouse full of emmental!!!

Use the 2 hours of your life to go out and do anything else. I mean anything, wash out the slime in the bottom of your wheelie bin, I promise it will be more fun.

Just watched Hacksaw Ridge. Fantastic film . True story about a Desmond Doss who refused to carry a rifle in the army and won the medel of honour . Mel Gibson directs. Well worth watching .

    John Wick starring Keanuae Reeves.
An ex hitman wronged by criminals and out for revenge.
Massively OTT but worth a watch if you like plenty of action, fast cars and violence.

T2 Train Spotting. Absolutely brilliant, all the energy and buzz of the original. Best film I've seen in years.

Second that! Recommend seeing it in a cinema as the battlefield sound is incredible. One of the bloodiest battle scenes I've ever seen

I've got the book. Same author, forget her name, who wrote Seabiscuit. Well worth a read and a good film too.
