Hi all. Am currently between Triumphs, ahem. I had a brand new Speed Triple 1050 in 2007 which I ran for 5 years (loved it), and later had 1050 Sprint for couple years (ok, but ughh the looks didn't inspire me much). I'm desperate to get a Trumpet back into the stable but nothing recently has tempted me until now. I've had loads of bikes, not sure what I really fancy. Only thing I definitely don't want is head down, bum up rocketship race rep. Been there, done that. Luckily Triumph don't make one!! I am waiting for the Blobber to arrive for test ride in April, and also gonna test ride the latest model Speed Triple R. Another possibility is a certain cafe racer, built in Krautland, but I won't mention that . Back to back test rides and the one that gives me the biggest grin wins. Watch this space!!
Yeah, how about the Thruxton R? Welcome to the forum but don't mention B*W - only littleade can get away with that!
Noooooooooooo!!! Not another One !!!!!!! One Twat Suit is enough He Lies ......He said its Sunny Wecome anyway
Thanks guys. i tried the Thruxton R but it killed me after 20 mins. I'm 6'2" and a shade over 18 stone, used to be all muscle but....erm....age and love of food has redistributed it a bit . I'm not as bendy as I once was in my yoof either. So don't worry, the *** is a leftfield option on the very remote chance that it is very long and roomy for a guy my size! I think realistically it is between the Blobber and the S3. Very different bikes, we'll see. Should be fun!
Oh, you have not met me yet Welcome from Krautania! You are the first mate here to dare mentioning a 9tee... And then even the Racer... I also just recently sold my Thrux R. Checked out the Bobber, but did not love the tail too much. Still think it is a bike to consider though. I chose the Bonneville T120. (After trying all the noodles, you end up with Spaghetti, as the Romans told Jesus about 2017 years ago. The only nice thing, they ever said to Jesus, if I think about it now.) I am very curious about how you will like the Racer after testriding it. One of the reasons, I preferred the Bonnie over the boxer was the fact, that the latter has an even harsher ride, than the Thrux R. I sold the R for the same reasons, you mentioned and I even had the lower handles installed... Anyway: have a lot of fun here but be aware: once you are in, we won't let you out... Cheers! Daniel
Danke Daniel, I will keep you updated when I have the test rides. How is the weather over in Krautania? I have happy memories of visits to Munich, as my brother worked and lived over there for 3 years so I used to visit him in Ismanning. Think it is why I have a soft spot for the Bayerische Motoren Werke Tschuss!! Al
