lead water pipes in the house, there's still probably millions still fed there main water supply through lead pipes even now.

Who else made a skateboard from an old rollerscate and a plank of wood? You could drop your pushbike outside a shop - go and get a Mars bar for less than 10p - and the bike would still be there on return. 1/2 pence sweets - how times have changed..
