Good fact CC I always wondered why that was! I take it its ok to change it yourself then? I mean its not an MOT fail or and argument point if you get a picky copper if the wheel sticks out behind the plate line?
My old Fireblade passed an M.O.T with the number plate in front of the rear tyre? To my understanding, the law for motorcycle number plates only states the number plate must present & legible... Must be fitted to the rear of the bike (doesnt mention at furthest possible point) must be of legal size, with a plain yellow reflective background, fonts must be of legal size & spacing.
It's only a production requirement from the factories, once its left the factory you can then change it?. Also the indicators must be a min 6 inches apart. There's lots of silly rules and regs the factories have to adhere too.
Last weekend me and the Mrs headed over to Wales (Newport) on the bikes to meet up with friends. Took a few pics and did a little filming when we were up near Llandovery. Sorry I didn't get chance to say hello to some of the locals on the forum; mate showed us a few decent roads and it didn't rain.
Great vid Richard - what camera and mounting position? Need to play with the mic sensitivity on my Ghost - get rid of some of the background 'rattle' while still picking up the engine / exhaust noise.
Decided to go for a spin yesterday to clear my head a bit, went through Bala to Porthmadog, went past there and got a bit lost, the road got narrower and narrower eventually ended up on the beach!!! Good run though
OK, so not today but went to the 623mcc Christmas party in South Wingfield over the weekend. Brilliant do, got a little bit messy (alcohol). Went over the Boar's Head pass on Saturday, came back a the Cat & Fiddle on Sunday. I'd forgotten what a nice piece of road that is, even with the 50mph ave. speed cameras. Had fun, which I guess it's what it's all about?
Had a blast round snowdonia and over to Bala, roads pretty quiet had A4212 from Trawsfynydd over to Bala to myself one of my favourite bike roads.
Put some crash bobbins on,, then went for a ride didnt ride long as there was police everywhere. Went out early evening, no police, not many tourists, lovely ride. Ended up riding for about 3 hours. Totally lost track of time. Great stuff....
Right now Im not doing anything. Im stuck on a rig, dont think I will get home before aug, 15. I am so fed up. The only thing Im looking forward to is my trip around the UK. Have to wait for my mate, he is in Norway. He has a crew change aug 22, but hopefully he kan get home a bit earlier. Then its down to Hook of Holland, ferry to Harwich, then ride ride ride.......
Know the feeling K - not too much longer for me - out of Norway at the moment, just left Invergordon - should get off next Weds / Thurs in Leith (Edinburgh) Still no biking though - off to Alicante for a fortnight in Spain. Will get a long weekend back home before heading off again so fingers crossed summer not finished by then!
Waiting for Pay Day to go get her inspected, registered and then off to the Engine Shop for some Triumph Love. The joy of a new fresh build. Well new to me anyway.
Managed a late evening ride out last night with the mrs taking her Street Triple. Did a 50 odd mile Liecestershire circuit calling in at a pub at the Cove in Stoney Stanton (one of the deepest fresh water diving lakes in the UK) Empty ish roads as it was just getting dark loads of bug splats and great fun :upyeah:
Oh I have tons of build pictures but the one picture I have now in my Album is the one I am liking the nest.
