I managed a dry night last night, just a can of ginger beer...

Expected to wake up this morning feeling lively, fully awake and vibrant ready to tackle the days pressures with excitement and vigour but no, I still feel like a bag of shite and can't be arsed. Oh well, back to beer and wine tonight :)

Think I tried to watch it once, lasted about 30 minutes then decided the main character was a total twat and did not want to be involved in any way in his miserable little life. But often feel that about Ken Loach films, miserable affairs most of them. Make me laugh, smile, scare me, thrill me, but don't make me spend 2 hrs feel unhappy and pissed off, not why I watch a film.

Rant over, enjoy the dvd when you get it DD ;):D

I spent my university years drinking Cider & Guinness combo - Black Velvet (poor man's) - now that was a mix :D

At the uni bar, either Guinness or a Cider was on special offer price, so not really liking either (Guiness was not nice from there, not all Guinness before you start whinging at me), a mix of the pair was fine 'Solution' ;)

We engineering undergrads had a drinking reputation to live down to, I like to think we did it proud.

Ha, all you lot talking about getting high on girls cocktails :p

For the last few day I've been restricted to my bed with chronic back pain/spasms after seeing my GP on Monday he prescribed Tramadol (opioid). Taken it previously for severe back pain and it can make you carefree to put it politely.
Tramadol isn't working so had a home visit today from my GP and he's prescribed Diazepam and Morphine and said I can take all 3.

    Cloud nine here I come:eek:

Only problem is with these pain killers they make you constipated, who knows I may be having a dump on cloud nine :)

Don't worry about cloud nine, they have restrooms there!

    All the best!

+1 for Angel's Share. Good shout Winglad. Cracking good scallywag film. I suppose it's a bit like Trainspotting in so far as they've got Scottish accents, but Angel's Share is lighthearted and uplifting, nearer the Para Handy side of the lines than Trainspotting's.

Sorry to read of this Tiglet. Having destroyed my back on a few occasions I can say from experience that the valium type drug Diazepam will help you relax and the right opioid will dull that pain. However, as a former Wilderness First Responder and Guide, I do think your symptoms require a muscle relaxer such as SOMA (aspirin/carisoprodol) or any other skeletal muscle relaxant combinations. Opioids are dangerous longterm and even that short term constipation is no joke.
I am not a Doc and only trying to suggest a more effective course of action. I worked overseas in remote areas for 6 years and had to keep myself and my "clients" fully mobile and muscle relaxers will do that with less risk of dependency and the associated constipation you mention. We did not have probiotics back then but now you can buy them over the counter and they will help move things along in your gut. Hope this helps.
Got off topic, my apologies to my fellow members. Now - tomorrow, Friday January 20th I shall be uncorking a good bottle of champagne to celebrate the Independence Day of our nation. As you know, we had our version of BREXIT here and Trump won. I am celebrating the rolling back of government over reach and the end of Ovomit and his socialist agenda. Yes, even an old, crusty biker git will celebrate with a bottle of champagne (Californian not surrender monkey stuff from FR.)
    CHEERS,
    Chris

    Now keep drinking :).
