Tapping away at penelope today again. Managed to get my down pipes sand blasted . I get fed up of the black paint flaking even though I roughed up the chrome. 20170112_144811.jpg
Thank god for works boiler house. Perfect for spraying 20170112_170702-2656x1494.jpg
    :D:D:D

Then fitted new flasher unit as mine flashed too fast after I changed the indictators. Found an adjustable flasher unit so I can set the speed. :).
    20170112_143209-2656x1494.jpg
Then did a bit of spraying and tidying while I wait for parts

Even the rad got a spray.
    20170112_144859-2656x1494.jpg
    Oh well . Until tomorrow . :D:D

Road out today to the Sausage Factory bikers (and non-bikers) cafe on the A5 at Pottersbury (down the hill a bit from Jack's Hill cafe at Towcester) with Paul. First time for both of us. It was busy which is always a good recommendation, and well deserved too. It started chucking it down while we were there so got thoroughly drenched on the way back (note to self, get some new fecking wet weather gear you nob). We popped in to Grafton Honda for a coffee and Paul's fag break, and saw this little beauty. http://thetriumphforum.co.uk/threads/trading-in-my-triumph-for-a-honda-sorry-folks.8345/

I sprayed it when I did the first full strip about 18 months ago. I had a few carb issues since then so the paint was looking a bit drab. So I just freshed it up. I used stove paint. It works well.

20170112_143109.jpg It's a bugger trying to put the carbs and airbox back in but I have to wait for the hose between the thermostat and water pump to arrive. Just a word of warning on that Bikerman .. where the pipe is held against the engine by the bar off the metal bend it weakens the hose. So if your ever working in that area . It's worth checking. As if it burst on you it's going to be messy .

Anyone got a tripod for sale - that'll put an end to all these shaky photo allegations.

Nice ride out to Monk Bretton sculpture park, Emley moor mast and surrounding villages.
40 miles round trip in bright sunshine with temps around 3 degs.
To say the roads were virtually dry I couldn't believe the amount of salty shite the bike was covered in when I got back.
Good clean tomorrow if the weather is okay.

Nice sunny afternoon so took Bonnie for a spin out to #1 Daughter's in Rushden via the lovely twisty Kimbolton Road. From the outset got stuck behind a black go-faster-boy-racer-style hatchback going frustratingly slow, but too much traffic coming the other way for me to open up past him between the bends. Worst of all, he had a sticker in his rear window saying 'Think Bike. Think Biker'. Jeez, if he really meant that he'd've pulled over and let me past ffs. :) Coming back I had the low sun full on in my face, so not so nice either half the time. But hey, better than going to Tesco shopping.

Figwold and I took a bloomin' fingers-freezing backroads ride over to Grantchester from Bedford today, via Sandy, Potton and Wrestlingworth onto the B1042/A603. Had a warm-up cuppa at the Rupert Brooke pub. Which brought to mind his long 1912 poem, written in Berlin, The Old Vicarage, Grantchester,
    . . . oh! yet
Stands the Church clock at ten to three?
And is there honey still for tea?

...or rather the hilarious Peter Seller's spoof on the very first record I ever had (1958), 'Balham - Gateway to the South'.

Just taken the catalytic converter off the Thruxton tonight. Just hope the new link pipe arrives soon whilst I can remember where all the bolts come from.

Was only joking about the bolts. It'll be a doddle to put back together. Hope pipe comes soon though. Looking fwd to hearing how it will sound and ride like.
