Rant of the day

Been there done that, but ebay. Also I bought nightbreakers from a reputable shop, great light but they didnt last long either,grrrrrrrrrrrr. and yep they always go when it is either pissin down, foggy or minus 5.
why do car manufacturers make it almost impossible to change bulbs . my good old Pug 306 was a piece of piss, my 308 is a bugger for my sausage fingers, why do they use spring clips that you cant see and have to be double jointed anyway????

 

Feckin jag is a nightmare to change bulbs. Every time I end up with scratches on my hands and arms

Do quite a few at work for staff, just about every modern car is a PITA!

Shocking its the same all over DD they just announce all jobs are prioritised so people can wait hours,
realise the system is overloaded but just not good enough when your the person waiting or your the ones trying to
keep them alive. Like everything else we have now its not fit for purpose due to continual cuts in budgets and recruitment,

 

Not all are bad, mine got to the house in, and no exaggeration, under 5 minutes last Boxing Day, wife phoned 999 and hardly had time to get dressed and they were at the door!
Not the 1st time either a few months ago it took them 7 minutes to arrive at an RTC on our junction after the Police called them, it was the police who took more than 20 minutes to arrive while I'm doing traffic management!! (Their bloody job!!) yet they managed to drum up no fewer than 9 vehicles for an apprehension of a TWOCK that ended in the sports centre car park down our road!
Cant fault our Ambulance or hospital service, but police Scotland are bloody useless, it was them who missed the call-out for a death crash on the M9 only to arrive 3 days later!!

 

I dont think they would 'prioritize' if you gave them those symptoms of a possible heart attack, even if he had 'previous', imagine the inquest results and being sued if he had died even if he'd cried wolf before or was known.
There should be a law against wasting Ambulance/Fire Service time in cases like that just as there is for the police!

 

I'm with you all the way on this one, the ambulance staff and all hospital staff from A&E, consultants, junior doctors, ward staff, to the cleaners who mop up after the night nurse knocked over the p*ss pot bottle, they all have my full admiration, I would not be here if it wasn't for them!
I honestly think NHS Scotland knocks spots of England's any way, all though not perfect, its a far better system. (Even the food is edible, I'll go so far as to say some of it is quite nice, but avoid the 'scrambled egg')

 

I'd just like to add that what ever the out-come you and your mate did all that you could by the sounds of things, and the bloke was lucky you 2 were at hand to help.

At the end of the day hospitals are run badly buy the top heavy upper management, you should see the wages pensions etc they get. Government are starving hospitals of cash in this manmade recession so as Branson can buy it all cheap as he is doing right now, the NHS will end up like the railways being privately run to make huge profits but but paid for by the taxpayer.

 

I cannot praise too highly the genuine NHS employees who remain true to the hipocratic oath.

 

It is the mark of a good citizen and a credit to you both.

 

Just as a follow on to DD's whine.
Over the last 2 years a number of ambulances and paramedics have pitched up at my front door. Each time they have look quizzical when either Mrs Al or me has answered the door. Each time they were informed that they had the wrong name and address, (close but not at my house) and pointed in the right direction. The problem was caused by them using THEIR SYSTEM sending the crew to the WRONG ADDRESS. When they entered the street name and house number THEIR SYSTEM defaulted to our postcode and as the crews probably aren't local because North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) draw on people from Cheshire to Cumbria the crew could be from almost anywhere in Cumbria and so don't know the area. The best bit is that IF the crew were dispatched from our local depot (about 5 minutes as the blue lamp flashes) they had to drive past the address they were SUPPOSED to attend.
Anyhow, after the fourth or fifth knock I contacted NWAS not to complain but to help them solve the problem but THEY WERE DETERMINED THAT THEY WERE RIGHT. After a mostly forthright discussion with the duty manager she eventually checked the system and found, TWO ADDRESSES, (house number and street name) within 3 miles of each other, the only difference is THE LAST TWO LETTERS OF THE POSTCODE.
The end result is an APPOLOGY from them and they have actually added a name to both addresses to avoid further confusion.
The thing that bugs me is that they quite rightly whinge about being over worked and having their precious time wasted they were DETERMINED THAT THEIR SYSTEM WAS PERFECT AND DIDN'T MAKE MISTAKES. NWAS have wasted valuable time by dispatching a crew sometime with blues and two to the wrong address and this COULD have been critical time wasted.

In defence of the Ambulance services across the country I would like to say :-
I do a part time job ( 2 x 5.25 hr evening shifts 18:15 - 23:30 ) driving out of hours GP's on visits. For a starters the ambulance system and the whole NHS system is abused by people who will not and cannot look after themselves. They want instant cures for colds and cases of the trots when there aren't instant cures. While you are waiting for an ambulance for a man having a heart attack there may be five times many people waiting for an ambulance where an ambulance is NOT needed. The ambulance services are overwhelmed. There are two main reasons for this. One, people call 999 at the drop of a hat these days resulting in many unnecessary callouts. Two, the call handlers at the 111 service ( which replaced NHS Direct) follow a script when they take calls from the public. These call handlers are not medically trained. This has resulted in a huge amount of callers being needlessly told to call an ambulance. The company I work for takes calls from the 111 service which have been referred for home visits. I can tell you that most of these visits are unnecessary, many people abuse the out of hours system because they are too bone idle to go and see their GP during the day.
So, some typical out of hours reported problems :-
I've got a numb thumb
I've burnt a pizza and inhaled some of the smoke
I've got a cold
My husband gave it me up the arse last night and now I'm sore
Some people are really ill obviously and there is a scheme going now where if the ambulance crew arrive at a house and decide the patient might not need to go to hospital but does need seeing by a doctor, they can call the company I work for and a doctor will call the patient and visit if necessary or send them to hospital.
Last thing. I see tons of waste. I'm convinced there's plenty of money in the NHS, it just needs spending in a better way.

 

I am having a major rant at MCE insurance as on 25/11/2016 I took out TPFT on a little run around and paid £114.00.
today cancelled as I sold the run around, as it was a not for me and guess what, I was told that the fact I had gone 2-3 months on cover, the cancellation fee was higher than my refund so I got nil back!!!

WTF rip off insurance sh!! Heads.



Not using them again.
