In the mid 80's a friend of mine had a restoration business and I often helped out, any thing from 2 stroke bubble cars to 1920's Rolls Royces, he bought a Vinny that was in a bad way being left in a shed for years, he only went round to look at an old side car he wanted and that was attached!
What luck, re-built the side car for another bike and months later the Vincent Black Shadow was ready too, he rode it from Southend to Dover docks with me on the back to ship it to Belgium, I've never had such a rough, bumpy and uncomfortable ride on any thing in my life!!! (Barring an ex but that's another story!)
Bloody glad to have got off the thing, but really enjoyed the time helping to restore it though, surprising how easy it was then to get new parts for it too.
Admitted it was not as bad a condition as that one though!

When I moved to UK in 84 I couldn't speak a word of English but nearly pissed myself laughing when I watched that. Cheers and keep 'em rolling!

You lot should organise a trip to Deutschland, you'd have a right laugh!
Don't forget to take a copy of Valiant with Captain Hurricane as the hero.
I learnt my first and only bit of German from that comic.
    'Achtung', 'Schnell', 'Spreckunshidoink'
And not forgetting the poor little pig being interrogated by the SS officer.
"Ve hav vays of making you Pork"

Japs and Commandos, English and Gerrys, Cowboys and Indians, Doctors and Nurses, oops! I've gone off at a tangent!
What would our politically correct masters have to say if they stepped back fifty years.
All harmless fun, but you knew the English were always the bravest, strongest and always came out on top.
Good bit of brainwashing if you ask me.

    Now, that's an interesting term...

A good English-speaking friend of mine once asked me to teach him 2 typically German words. No problem, I said and taught him:
    Glibberbeutel and Schlabbersack.
I said, we use the first to greet each other and the latter to say: "It was my pleasure"
From then on, we always had great fun in the German pubs...
