I had two uncles in the army during the NI challenges, both only 18 when they joined up and were sh!! Scared when they were there and when came back, but whilst there they did what they had to do and both still respect the good people of NI, due to'the fact that, Like in any war there are always good and bad on both sides, but the reality is it is a war and in war, sometimes you can't take risks and you can't trust even an injured combatant, so what this lad did may on film look awful, but if you were in his boots and been through what he had, would you have done anything different?

It is shameful that the Chilcot enquiry has not been chased with such gusto, with the likes of Tony 'Teflon' Blair still shamelessly parading himself about, while forces personnel are being hounded for allegations dating back decades.
The child sex abuse enquiry, another farsical pretence at leaving no stone unturned until they start finding links to prominent establishment figures.
Throw a few scapegoats to the lions to appease popular opinion and let the real culprits roam free to wreak more worldwide mayhem.

Kyle (American Sniper) did not shoot a child.

In the opening scene of the film he is shown to shoot a women and a boy who have an RKG-3 Russian Anti-Tank Grenade concealed. In the book Kyle says he shot a woman carrying a Chinese grenade who was walking towards the convoy. He makes no mention of any accompanying child. That was added by the screen writers or by Eastwood the director. The war diary makes no mention of a child being shot or killed by Kyle.

In his book Kyle does say he scoped a child. That was when a man sends a kid down in the street to retrieve an RPG. "I had a clear view in my scope, but I didn't fire. I wasn't going to kill a kid, innocent or not. I'd have to wait until the savage who put him up to it showed himself on the street." In the film though, a kid just wanders out and picks it up, and Kyle scopes him.

Never trust Hollywood to depict historical events with any semblance of accuracy.

Visited New York for the first time last year and I couldn't believe how warm and welcoming the natives were when they found out you were from England.
I know that you're spending on your hols, but it was more than that, they were helpful, polite, patient, interesting and interested.
I came home with a completely different view of New Yorkers than what I went with.
    Great people!

Although to be strictly fair, when the 'Championship of the United States', aka 'World Series', first started US teams were probably the best in the World, cuz no-one else played rounders professionally, and it was being marketed as global, which it wasn't.

Now I've always been opposed to hanging, but there are times when you think, well, under some circumstances, maybe. So my mate picked up his brand-spanking-new top of the range Jag last Thursday after returning from a brilliant holiday in New York, and drove over to his lady's on Tuesday. Weds morning he found some green-with-envy $h!t3b@g had keyed it. What a choker. And this is a replacement for the one he'd written off a few weeks back that was only three weeks old - he'd driven over something on the M25 near Heathrow that ripped the bottom out. Bought with inheritance money after his mum passed.

AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL LADIES.
Dear Ladies, everyone knows 24th December is designated Mens Shopping Day. It's not like it's something new just been invented. We devote a precious thirty minutes, sometimes even more, this day every year to gift shopping. We've got bikes to wash, wax, polish and admire too you know. Yet town's rammed with wimin this morning! Ladies, give us space! You've got Tesco, Sainsbury's, Iceland and all sorts of wimin shops so why are you clogging up the town centre on OUR day? Then you complain that we chaps end up last minute gift shopping at the petrol station! Yours respectfully, Everybloke, Wetherspoons.

What makes my toenails roll up?

Kids banging their toys on the table next to me in the restaurant for hours while their parents proudly smile down at them. (And like with dogs, it is the custodians that I despise, not their offspring).

Being ex-mob myself (full time RAF then RAuxAF Reservist) I agree that this Sgt Booty has been well and truly dry humped and foot bucked, but, he knew he was wired for video and audio and so he should have used that most important tool that is a must for all SNCO's, COMMON SENSE. I'm sure he and his team could have engineered 'technical faults' with their body-cams when circumstances demanded 'privacy'. That said he did what was needed in the heat of the moment and put the miserable git out of his misery as there was no way he could have got a medic to the scene. Personally I would have let the git lie there in agony and wait for the Big Man to take him to his heaven

I totally agree with you chap, but, these days we have to be nice to those nasty folk who are trying to kill you.
Its all part of the Rules of Conflict bit of the Geneva Accords (previously called the Geneva Conventions), and as soon as we signed up to the EU Human Rights s#1t by Tony B-LIAR we got dry humped regarding the treatment of capture enemy personnel under the EU Human Rights bollocks as well.
Enemy prisoners and wounded MUST be treated with dignity and given medical aid if required, because it was all written by people who have no clue whatsoever about being in combat and it was hoped that if the S#!t happens to one of our guys they would get good treatment. this is all very nice when you are fighting a civilised enemy in a civilised country but falls on it's tits when you are fighting medieval minded religious brain dead morons in s#!te holes like Afghanistan and Iraq, (been to both and they are defo not on the preferred holiday hot spot list)
Whilst assigned to a 'unit' in Basrah in GW2 we were told to 'double tap' any target, eg, 2 rounds per target, preferably top and center of body mass just to make sure that they stayed down and, as we had HK's and 9mm Glocks the effects at close range are nearly as good as the good old SLR at 500 yards, eg, they don't get up again

Don't get me started on this. At least one of the parasites who have been ripping off the tax payer over claims made by the scumbag Iraqi's has been struck off by the Law Society and most of their claims have been discredited because the so called ex-policemen doing the investigations were telling porkies and making false claims on behalf of the so called claimants. This s#!t house lawyer who is bringing cases against the guys who worked in NI is a known Gerry Adams / Martin McGuiness groupie so the chances are not much will happen and if counter claims are made about Adams and McGuiness the whole thing will collapse

Under the Geneva Accords (aka Geneva Convention), a child or person (under 18 I think) cannot be combatants. That's why these S#!t heads use women and kids. They know that the US/UK forces cannot shoot back where there are 'vulnerable' civilians (the elderly, the sick and injured, women and children). In fact no collateral damage is tolerated. Even the various air forces have to limit damage to the target and if as in the RAF's case they cannot confirm the target using the good old Mk1 Eye Ball, they don't drop. So, Abdul Raghead mingles amongst civilians to use his AK or RPG, hides in someone's house behind the occupants, hides in the mosque/hospital/graveyard etc
