I love the fact you found a Scottoiler, top her up with the correct oil get it flowing tothe chain and you would never have to oil/wax the chain again.

 

It's brilliant once it gets going mate.

 

I also re-balanced the rear wheel on Sunday, twas a bit of vibration coming through the footpegs.
All lovely and smooth again.
I had to take off 15g of weight, seems somthing has settled since the new tyre went on.

 

Took Doris out to jack lilleys to get her chrissie pressie today. Did a wee detour via newlands for a bacon bap. It was lovely day for a ride.

 

Had to get a neighbour to jump start the Street Twin after breakfast before riding over to Pure Triumph in Woburn with a mate for 500 mile service, bought a new battery and an ex-demo Tiger XRx. Then over to another mate's for bacon and egg baps, then to Flitwick Motorcycles to show off the Twin and let the boys there have a spin on it - well impressed they were too. Then we stopped off at the Cross Keys in Puloxhill for a leisurely pint of IPA, then home just before dusk. So a full day and exactly a massive 40 miles of tarmac covered. Well, no need to rush these things.

I'm getting rid of the Sprint I bought for volunteer blood running because, since my bout of inflammatory rheumatioid arthritis, it's just too uncomfortable a riding position, and too top heavy to hold up in a tilt. Today, again when moving it at low speed I felt it toppling away from me. The Tiger is so much lighter with a lower centre of gravity. I only meant to demo the bike, but bollox, I liked it, so it's mine now, all mine.

We've worked it out. Some $h!tb@g must have put their foot on the mudguard to try to lever the steering lock, but all they managed to do was bend the mudguard bracket, then drop the bike against a wall and scratch a couple of bits. Presumably the assessor saw the mudguard all out of shape and decided there would be work needed on the forks - because all the repairs cost was £300 inc labour, so even factoring in the cost of a hire bike while being repaired, it was no-way a genuine right off. I got a bloomin' real bargain.

 

Got another 100 miles on the street twin this week. I also fitted some knee pads: I think it takes the planeness off the tank. Only 150 miles to my first service, god the weather has really impacted my riding!

Really p*&sed that the ST does not come with a centre stand, so I invested in a bike jack. It is brilliant, needed to manufacture a couple of blocks otherwise works straight from the box. I'm hoping it is as good with the Thunderbird, which I will try next week if the weather improves.

Nothing with the Triumph today (although my replacement panel came in).

I got the Guzzi back from being ECU reflashed. Only done a short ride so far but... holy ****. No lag at all in the power delivery, it feels explosive at any RPM.

Gonna get the Triumph flashed at some stage.

 

I like the knee pads with the coloured tanks, my tank is black so I wouldn't get the same change of look
I would still recommend fitting a centre stand as it's a lot more convenient for washing/polishing, basic maintenance, roadside repairs etc.
Having just bought a basic bike scissor jack which is great for getting the front wheel off the floor and safely lifting the bike for more involved jobs, you don't always have it with you unlike the fitted stand.
I did debate wether to get the lift you have chosen but I finally decided on the mechanical one at £38 which works a treat.

Got a brand new one which I bought as part of a pair you can have for 50% of what the pair cost me, £22.50 plus postage. Postage likely to be £3.00, or £4.00 if signed for (I'll have to check weight at PO). Let's say £25 all in if it qualifies as medium parcel. You will probably find find cheaper used ones on ebay though. I'm asking £29.99 on ebay. I might be in Stoke next week picking up a bike my mate's buying, if so I can drop it off and save the postage. But he might be buying from Kings Lynn instead. Image5 looks like it's scuffed, but that's a trick of the light.

 

Took the BonnieSE over to Flitwick Motorcycles to get new back tyre, then over to Letchworth with a mate to visit his son's grave, then lunch, then blasted some back roads the long way round back to his house. Beautiful fresh day for riding till the sun went down. Then, as a fashion leader, I listened to my mate doing a deal over the phone to px his 1050 Sprint for a Tiger XCx - cuz he's jealous I'm dumping my 1050 for a Tiger XRx

While in Flitwick we saw this T100. It's a '15 reg on a private plate. Chap bought it to commute, did 20k miles, retired Tuesday, sold it to the shop Wednesday motorbiking days all done and dusted.
