Hi They are a silicon hose set from ebay, dont seem to be hardly any suppliers to fit the Triumph 900's

i hope to have the engine running again over Christmas, have lots still to do have been working on some options for colour schemes

 

Many thanks the exhaust headers are stainless steel as standard cleaned up with rotary wire brush and wet n dry paper in soapy water, still a bit to go yet though a labour intensive job !!

 

Bit of an update and some opinions please.

Have fitted carbs now all stripped and re-jetted, the needles were really badly worn and carbs full of sludge and grit !!

I have fitted a pair of tapered exhausts, have also fitted 15% bend to give up-swept look, what do you think ?

 

Thanks very much, really most of it has been time and effort, couple hours few nights a week. Still lots to do as i think its the details that make or break projects whether they are cars or bikes.

Saved some money by only paying £650.00 for the donor bike

 

hi think the ram air filters maybe better i have noticed that these mesh conical items are fairly cheaply made the rubber surround also shrouds the mouth of the carb quite significantly .

 

Hi i finished work on Weds until the 3rd January, been doing bit more spannering, got the rear wiring loom completed, completed few other jobs, couldn't resist fitting the tank and seat unit just to see what it looked like with exhausts etc. The tank fitted well. A little to well took half hour to get off !! found out catching the coil units, they will need lowering a little.

Be having few days off from working on bike over xmas period to do the family stuff

 

Hi the end colours are going to be mainly bright red with some white and black thrown in. Have sketched out some ideas by printing out photos of finished bikes and tippexing out the colors and putting mine on with felt pen.

When have narrowed it down to a couple going to cover tank and seat unit with some AO paper and draw design on so can see on bike and take some pics to give to body shop to prep and paint as definitely one job going to get proffesionals to do. Will post some pics as i narrow it down.

Hi hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Bit of an update, fitted footpeg and linkage assemblies, got some footpegs from a 1050 triple look good !!. Fitted rear indicators, battery, replaced the battery cables, turned engine over on starter motor with plugs out just to get oil moving around since strip down. Done some soldering and tidied rear loom up. Not much in the way of interesting pics to send.
Have been polishing exhaust manifolds up with a kit of ebay v impressed nearly mirror finish!! will post pics when done.

BTW the battery shown in the CRK Build manual £160.00 + you need special lithium ion battery charger, Ian from CRK being the great chap he is recommended another bit heavier same size although checking data better A/H £58.00 and standard trickle charger.

Will post some pics when have something exciting

 

cheers yes i have one will have a look, not sure if that will do the job though, going to leave until get it started up and on road may well change to some foam RAM Air filters unless i can locate some better chrome units

 

Evening all ....

A bit of on update, got her started on Saturday first time squirt easy start and temporary fuel tank !!

all instruments working, lights with exception of indicators, alternator charging had bit of fuel leak on one carb, stripped down re-assembled and sorted.

The up swept exhaust silencers i had fitted in previous photos will have to go far to LOUD !! think going to fit the Motad type as the bike at CRK has fitted unless anyone else has some good ideas ?

As for the indicators i have fitted LED Type and the flasher unit wont work with it, bought another supposed compatible unit and that didn't work either !! i know the flasher units are working ok as have connected old type filament lamp and they flash fine.

Don't want to really have to fit a ballast resistor to each indicator does anyone know of a relay that actually works ?

will keep you posted as build progresses, also trimmed and fitted tank properly.
