Anyone aware if all bikes affected or specific vin nos? Seen a few worrying threads on the American triumph forum.

Don't know about leaks but I have just had a recall notice for a fuel pump wiring harness problem.

Actually the recall notice says "the fuel pump sub harness may allow fuel to drain from the fuel tank into the connection joint between the sub harness and main harness. In the event of an electrical short, this ignition source presents an increased risk of a vehicle fire".
I got a letter which I'll get sorted but absolutely no need to panic. Certainly not leaking fuel tanks.

Funnily enough I got a letter on Saturday from KTM about my 1190 Adventure. They were saying that exactly same exists with their bikes? Funny coincidence eh?

I've not had a letter but mine is affected. Dealer just said when you're ready, it takes about an hour ! which probably means 2.

It's going to be 14 degrees end of the week, that's why I don't sorn mine the weather these days is so unpredictable. I was out last week for a quick hour, it was fine, the low sun is the biggest problem..

Only one extra here, I think if I left a bike in the corner too long , I might think it was wasting space-and flog it .

Got a letter too. Mines going in this Friday at Bulldog Triumph. They said it takes just 30 minutes, so I'll be waiting while they do it and trying to avoid looking to closely at shiny new Triumphs in the showroom. At least the weather is mild for a gentle ride in!

Have not received a letter from Triumph or the dealer I bought it from, so I checked the web site crispey suggested and sure enough mine needed doin'.

So called the dealer and booked it in and while it was there I had the factory heated grips fitted, total time, one and a half hours.

The ride to the dealers (85 miles each way) was crap, roads really mucky/salty/muddy/slippy so had it on the 'rain' setting.....felt like the lobes had been ground off the cams!.....but no loss of traction issues. By the time of the ride home the roads had dried enough for 'sport' mode......had great fun and my hands were toasty, thank you Mrs. dickydido for my Christmas present.

Bike did get a bit mucky though......still a bucket of suds and a hose pipe soon had it sorted followed by a session with my back pack blower to dry it off....now just got to re-lube it ready for its winter hibernation.

If you check out the post wash piccy, you'll notice the tank knee pads are missing and so is the tank protector pad........I guess Triumph must be using water soluble glue these days to be more enviro-friendly.......now I have to get some strong double sided sticky tape to fit the buggers back on!

    Anyway, Happy Christmas everyone,

    Cheers
