Hi BS1948, I have had the tank off my 2008 America and haven't replaced any O'rings in the fuel system/lines yet ! It's 8yrs old and tank comes off every 20,000 for valves to be adjusted/checked , did big bore kit and port Polish of the cylinder head last year too .... No fuel leaks ..... !

When refitting smear a light coating of red rubber grease around the o rings. It will let them slide in more smoothly

Hi BS, no I've never really been all that careful, I have found it really awkward to refitting the fuel line, it really is too short to refit it easily, the fuel tank has to almost be down only an inch or two above it's final resting position before the fittings will slide fully home. And as for that sliding lock that really F#$ks with your brain doesn't it ?? There is no room to get your hand into the space available and do anything without major struggle. The fuel should be lube enough to get it on, there always seems to be a little leakage every time I try.

Also keep the toggle fully depressed all the time you are removing refitting fuel connectors. Glad to hear you are using the grease.

I got Battlax S21s on yesterday. Only ridden it home since then but the difference already... it actually wants to turn now!

I'm popping out today to give em a run in. They were cracking tyres on the Benelli, so I expect good things.

Look forward to a further report. had a look at some reviews and all good. Not much on tyre life. My BT023's were fairly new on the bike when I got it in July and have done 4K on them in all weathers. They are a little sketchy on very cold/damp mornings and need a good warm up first.

    Keep me posted :)

What have I been doing with my Triumph today..........
Sitting on her. Yep, thats right just sitting on her, now I know this is sad but due to my sciatica I have been stuck indoors for days. Been to the docs today and he has signed me off for another 4 weeks. I can only walk a short distance so when I got back I went to my garage and opened up, undid my steering lock and sat on her for a couple of minutes. It made me smile and I forgot the pain for a bit.
Gonna be a long wait till I get to ride tho. Boo hoo

Been out for a couple of hours on Tigger, visited a few friends from where we used to live and just generally enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Talking of show plates, I need an Italian size 165x165mm plate, preferably in metal, for my Moto Guzzi. Anyone know of a place that could make me one? You can see the size in comparison to the plate on the Benelli.

Just had a quick look on ebay and there are a couple of people that could do a 6.5" x 6.5" plate. Search eBay item number: 131730806085 or 351571994228
