Never moan about my job just the hours away from my loved ones, Doris and tracey, getting to and from it in a car, weekends away from drinking with my mates, oh:eek: and the family I hardly see:oops:.

Just planning a little tour to Italy, leaving 5th, returning 7th December. Weather permitting, of course.

Leaving work and noticed a blimmin screw in the rear tyre, only done 1,000 miles or thereabouts.
Anyhow, I always carry a puncture repair kit with me and had a temporary mushroom plug in place within 5 min. USed two canisters of air.
I almost felt smug...I have used my kit to help three other bikers with punctures but this is only the second time for myself in 30k miles.
When I got home I checked the tyre pressure - was at 13psi  and the tyre was quite warm despite the 2-3c temp.
So I will use at least three canisters next time.

I will take the wheel to my local car tyre place and they will put a proper plug in place for about £20. The hole is just off centre so no reason it can't be repaired.

I also tightened up a coolant hose as I think I found where coolant has been leaking from.

What am I doing with my Triumph today ?? Same as i have been doing for over a week now. Looking from my first floor flat at the back of my garage. Am off work (grrrrrr) with a bad attack of sciatica, cannot walk more than about 50 yards without excrutiating pain. Like the Big Fella above, I am wondering if I will get to ride again. Even if I could walk I couldnt ride coz I am on heavy doses of pain killers which send me loopy. ( No comments please guys). Feel like a caged animal, hate tv,fed up reading motorbike mags and my ballroom dancing days look to be over, lol. Thank God for youtube.
PS my mrs has looked to see the bike is ok for me and checks the garage before going to work.

Thanks guys, I have had better weeks but I am sure me and for that matter the biglad will soon be out and about. Waiting for the hospital for an MRI scan, got appointment through for physio on 20th. Just keep popping lads of tablets for now and keeping my warm with hot water bottle. Sometimes the old cures work best, we will see. Hate not being at work tho.

Thanks for that mate, really appreciate it but I usually use a chiro in solihull, who sorted me out last year, tho it was not as bad as this. I had 2 sessions last week but tbh I think it made things worse. I am more than a little wary now so going to stick with the docs. I have to agree tho most are quacks. I am strapped up to protect my back a bit and take pressure off my sciatic nerve. Guess I just got to accept its time to slow down a bit.......except on the bike .

That sounds nasty, it probably wants to make you get out on your bike more knowing that you can't.
All these totally healthy folks parking their bikes up for the winter, don't seem fair does it ?
Don't want to make you feel any worse, but I was told that riding bikes can aggravate sciatica.
It may be worth looking at seating and suspension mods to your bike.
    Wishing you a speedy recovery.
