I have just got back in from a cheeky little ride out to Destination Triumph to be nosey and look at the new Triumph range, very impressed with some of the new models, they now do free hot dogs and have a free coffee machine too :) so a hot mocha and a mooch around the showroom, had a chat to one of the sales staff re a new bike (possibly) in Spring next year . Then nice quiet ride out to J&S accessories at Cowplain to get some ACF50 and a look round their showroom, up to Portsdown hill for a burger , a very grey day and a bit of drizzle too but still not too cold, then back to the garage, clean and lube up the chain, check over the rest of the bike, not bad considering I have been out since 11 this morning. Happy days :D

Have been to J&S at Cowplain quitea few times now - apparently they've opened a new large store in Southampton opposite Ikea.

I have to say Steve they certainly cram it all in to the limited floor space that they have at Cowplain, I have heard that one too re Southampton, might be worth a cheeky little run our some time soon

Well I had the Tiger battery on charge overnight and she still hasn't got enough juice so ordered a new Yuasa YTX14BS until it comes I'm off the road - which doesn't bother me at all as it was such a nice day today with loads of bikes passing the front of our place.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Hi big lad me too! Off the road for three days waiting for new Lithium battery!! WoW what a difference, turns over 3x's faster and seems to fire up instantly !

Reading the spec's on lithium battery. can take 90% of total charge IN in 6 minutes, so no more overnight charging anymore for this black duck !

Hi All, first impressions on new Lithium battery... What a difference, starts easier, runs better (old battery must have been degrading ecu performance etc) and it really seems that the claimed rechargeability is what is stated 90% in minutes , as I deliberately did several stops and restarted in short order, no more than 2 or 3 minutes between cycles, for a 14amp rated battery I can't fault it ! Doing better than the 24amp lead acid it replaced ever did, faster cranking and therefore starting than ever before, blurb on the information statistics sheet also imply that it should last years longer than lead job. Lead batteries last 200 recharge cycles ( flat to full charge) lithium claims 2 or 3,000 cycles so 10 years from a battery if not more ! I get 4 yes maybe 4 1/2 from lead acid ( softer weather helps no real cold here ) as I ride almost every day in the warmer weather and at least once a week in the cooler ( winter is mostly wet not cold ) coldest I've experienced in 35 years here in WA was -2°c overnight and was 14°c by 2 pm, and weather like that last 2 to 4 week's, so no bitter coldies
here. Oh and also states in the blurb will hold full charge for 12 month's and more ! So almost certainly no more jump starting ( well my machine requiring a jump ). I might be giving the helping jump starts.

Really happy it's like new again.. Yippeee !

    Cheers all

Hi MickEng, its an SSB power sport, comes in many sizes, I bought mine by external dimensions and amp rating, you need to get the same or similar Ampere rate as recommended for your bike,as the battery is built to take std car charger or alternator output's. I chose and bought 14amp measures 85*85 *145mm just slightly to wide for my original battery box location but fits my battery's current location , hangs just in front of my engine off the foot mountings cross bar. It cost me $178.00 Australian, about a hundred British Pounds! So cheap as it's likely the only battery you'll ever buy as a replacement.

    Cheers Capt.

Bike up on stands, Petrol syphoned out, and battery out of bike and into the warm and on maintain, fingers crossed this lets the blisters settle on the tank, I have been led to believe this should allow them to settle back into the paint.
I might get to put it all back and take it to work on Thursday if the weather improves.

Took off the frame skid plate to correctly tighten the oil filter that the main dealer hadn't done. Oil dripping out after I got home and a loose oil filter. FFS that is basic stuff.
