Embarrassing paddock stand question.

Practice with someone else supporting the bike until you are confident to do it on your own.
Not worth the risk of the bike over balancing.

 

Hold bike with left hand on bars whilst on side stand, insert forks of stand into LH bung and centralise bike up. As it centralises drop RH bung into fork and imidiately apply pressure on stand just to keep bike centralised. At this point you can let go of the bars and put full force now into the stand handle pushing down. Job done!

 

Embarrassing paddock stand question -

Its terrible when your paddock stand wont stay up, embarrassing yes, frightening for sure, But as said keep playing with it, until you feel confident to let it happen !!!!

 

I tend to use r&g bobbins then with hooks on the paddock stand they lock on. then push the stand down with one hand while the other holds the arse end of the bike... bobs ya uncle

 

They don't so much lock... as in the hooks are a bloody tight fit and don't slip off. better than the ones that just rest on the hooks.

 

Buy yourself a front wheel chock, they're cheap enough these days and keep the bike nice and upright while you put the back on the centre stand

 

That's quite a good way of doing it.

Another way to do it is put the sidestand on a bit of wood so the bike sits more upright - but not too upright !
