Hi everybody, i have been lurking on the forum for a few days & have already posted a couple of times but, excuse my manners, i forgot to introduce myself first in this section of the forum. What ive seen so far, although its relatively quiet here there seems to be a good mix of comedians about.

Anyway, Im Jeremy & i live in the Peterborough area & work for the local council, maintaining the parks & communal areas. Im hoping to possibly purchase a Triumph Bonneville America soon, currently researching cruiser bikes from various brands, stuck between Triumph & the Kawasaki at present, although im leaning more towards the Triumph.

Is the America a good bike? Anything i should look out for when viewing potential purchases? Plus points & negative points with this model?

Looking forward to having some laughs as ive noticed some forums are a bit clicky or mainly trainspotter type people! Lol

Welcome to the forum how you enjoy the banter , I have a 05 speedmaster you can see it on my profile haven't looked back, just check the service records, mileage ect.as for negative slower than the speedy rocket ships but that why you can cruise around in comfort LOL and the Triumph badge says it all better the Kwackasaki. Hope this helps

As for the forum definatly no trianspotters here

Cheers for the warm welcome chaps.

Are there any real differences apart from cosmetically between the America & Speedmaster models? Also i dont know if its my crappy laptop or not but a lot of the links (highlighted in red) in posts on the "America & Speedmaster" section seem to be dead links, or is that just me?

Hi welcome to the forum, I come from a background of mostly Japaneese bikes and had a brief affair with a Ducati but the Triumph has proved to be totally reliable up to now.

Ive been reading a lot on this forum over the last couple of days, having a good trawl through the threads, which admittedly do tend to go off on a tangent somewhat. This pig fella seems to get mentioned quite a lot recently, was he a bit of a legend on here?
