Just joined the forum and have been steadily making a few (reversible) mods to my R.

Really enjoying the bike and can't believe how much of a headturner she is!

Getting the solo and pillion seats recovered next, then might look at buying a second tank and seat cowl to do a colour change during the winter months.

I try to get to The Ace, Rykas, Loomies, Bike Shed etc whenever I can and longing for next spring already!

    Cheers

    Sam

Looks great. Thanks particularly like the tail tidy and pressed rear plate. Is that the Triumph tail tidy? I want to get one ordered.

Cheers dude! It's the Triumph tail tidy with the middle section removed and the rear section re-attached, then using Street Triple black alloy LED indicators and the pressed plate mounted as high as possible. No cutting or drilling required!

So, what is it like living with those mirrors?

I like the look but live in London so need the view to be life enhancing, happy to make the change but if it makes rear vision challenging I'll pass. Curious to know what it is like?

It's not too bad to be honest, you just need to dip your head a bit more.

However if I lived in London I'd probably keep them stock, to ensure I could react quickly enough if needed.

Then again you're only likely to be doing 3.2mph, so go for it and get them swapped over! ;)

Hi Sonny, our bike is looking great but I have a couple of questions if you don't mind?

    1. Is there a specific reason why you mounted the bar-end mirrors below the bars instead of the more conventional above? &

    2. Your P5 number plate - like it a lot - are you an old Rover fan? I used to have a P5B coupé, just a wonderful car.

Loving the pressed plate. Where did you get it from? Is it legal?

    1. Mounted under the bars they don't interfere with the upper lines of the design.

    2. No connection with the Rover but I'd love a P5 Coupe or a V8 P6! My other bike has a P5 plate with my initials, but I bought that plate for a car in 2001. Just kept the P5 theme going for the Thruxton but it means bugger all.

I found a guy on eBay who does them. Good finish and you can spec different sizes and layouts. Only illegal once you get caught! : )

Heel kickplates gone. My heels don't actually touch them anyway! Seat retrim and new paint for tank and seat cowl next....
