Can anyone explain why Triumph choose between gaiters or plastic stone guards on the forks ?

I can imagine it would be great to ride especially for us vertically challenged older guys.

Back end does look a bit sparse, but I have no doubt numerous conversion kits will hit the market soon starting at £1k
if you want to do it cheaper, bungee tie a sleeping bag on the mudguard for that real cool dude 'I'm off on my travels sleeping rough' look

At least they've decided to fit a decent tyre, instead of those crappy metz.

Hoping for an new America / Speed to turn up next. Image it will be a combination of the two and option kits to turn into either model, like they did with the scrambler. Was a good seller, right up to the end, so hopefully they will produce a new 1200 America.

 

Yep a real good looking bike. I was also at the launch event, loads of beer, food and awesome entertainment. Here is a picture I took of the new bobber.

I think it looks beautiful. I've only had the Thruxton a month and am feeling like my head has been turned which I can't quite believe. It looks like the perfect bike for an old(ish) bloke who lives in London, i.e. me. I'm kind of hoping that I can keep finding reasons to take my lovely wife out on the Thruxton so that I realise that I did buy the right bike. However, in 5 weeks and 900 miles I have only made one unnecessary, but nice, trip to a cafe in Hertfordshire; must try harder.

I can imagine this selling really well in the States. Harley's are cool for sure and have bucket loads of heritage but they are so agricultural, basic and limited that these new Triumphs will appeal in a major way. Shame they are not made in the UK really,.....

 

Yes it is a shame there not made in the U.K. It would be something to be proud of since most other things we had are lost now

I can't quite decide. They look great until you see one with someone sat on it. They just look a bit, well, silly! There seems to be too big a hole between the back of the seat and the mudguard.
Maybe they'll do a saddle bag or summat that will fill in the space and take away some of the 'monkey riding a tricycle look'

 

Probably nearer £13K-£14K if made in the UK (instead of the £10.5K that's being banded about)

True, guess you could take it out for a run round the lanes on a sunny Sunday on a trailer too!

 

It is a great looking bike without a rider,maybe when I'm used to seeing riders on it the look might grow on me, when i first saw the Dame Edna lights on the speed triple i thought they looked awful but having seen so many and having one myself my opinion has totally changed i love the look of them now

 

i like my Harleys but that just looks weird..what part is the fanny pad

 

Thinking now the looks of the bike may depend entirely on the actual looks of the rider !!!!
Now if it had a saddle like that, it would look way more appealing
