2 tubes of silicone come with it, the instructions show you put it on all the joints, and screws are all self tappers screwed from the inside then steel covers go over the seems, it cant be lever'd open.
Its the thickest steel of any shed panels available too, most use 0.5-0,7mm, Asgard use 1.2mm on all panels.
It conforms to the highest stands of the Loss Prevention Certificate Board grade 1, a highly respected Government and insurance recognized testing and appraisal organisation.
It has a 5 point locking mechanism on the double doors and a clever anti condensation venting system that runs both sides of the roof to side panels joints + vents top and bottom in the middle side panels.
Comes complete with full steel flooring + wood panels, 10 'coat' hooks and a shelf that runs the width of the back panel (5')
You also get a plate to put in a double socket.
Everything steel is galvanized, coated, then some sort of special paint applied, thats how they can give a 10 year warranty with very little owner maintenance.
The whole thing weighs in at 296kg!
So I do get something for the £1000.
See the vids on the Asgard site, bashing it with hammers, levers, screw-drivers and generally kicking 7 buckets of sh1t out of it for the cert. testing.
The nearest comparison is the Trimetals one, not as thick steel, not as well built, no floor wood panels, hooks or shelf, and starts at £1007 + extra's +delivery.
Oh, and another catch, you need to buy the up-graded one to get the insurance recognized security certificate, other-wise many insurance companies regard it as a shed NOT a garage!
Believe me, I've been doing the research, no one can prize my clenched fist open THAT easily!
Fewwwwww! perhaps I should be working for Asgard?
Seriously, if its as good as the reports I should be well happy, any one that's interested can pop in to have a look when its built.

Sadly it never made it into production, but the much anticipated Ford Pubic was to be built using the remains of old and recycled Ford Corsairs.:D

    Okay .... I know!

    Coat .... hat .... gone!:p

Cheers mate, I've got one very similar that was given out by Chesterfield police a few years back, its on the door of my work shed.
I got 2, 1 still in the box so will probably use that.
The Asgard will be very noisy to break into, not at all easy and sited right under my bedroom window where 2 of my dogs sleep, and the need to get through a heavily locked side gate first!
Looking forward to getting it, there have been quite a few bike thefts in Edinburgh recently although they have been parked up rather than stolen from homes.

    Here it is...............
    Photo0202.jpg

Thanks for reminding me I'd got another 'some where', had a good dig round the loft and found it!
This is bloody ear piercingly loud, also has a plug and cord to make it a personal attack alarm.
    Thank you Derbyshire police!

Should be here this week, if its not it will be cancelled as I've since found some one I can share garage space with at his house .
4-5 weeks 'lead time' and all they give you is 48hrs to arrange some one to be there to accept delivery, not every-one is lucky enough like me to be retired!
They seem to have a very cavalier 'take it or leave it' attitude reading their feed back, and worryingly, a lot of problems that needed to be right before they left the factory but left until the customer gets it then needs to change doors, panels etc due to bad paint, damaged etc, but then again its only a GRAND so what do you expect?
They do change things quickly, but it buggers up the building up, until next day at least, and these things should not happen if they have any quality control at the factory.

Did you mean a small gap for vegetation, last time I walked in one of those sheds that hadn't been properly assembled it was like "Day of the Triffids"
Dead flat base is the key otherwise your chasing yourself all day trying to get things square and to fit.

Well, I emailed them last night to ask them when this week it will arrive, got an email back dinner time today saying NEXT WEEK!!!:mad:
Follows the time slip feed backs I've read on line, so cancelled!!
I just emailed them to request cancellation with immediate effect, and got 1 back 'No problem will arrange refund immediately', no courtesy call to ask why, can we help you, nothing, so bloody arrogant!
5 fukcing weeks to make a shed and deliver it 4 hours up the road?
Un-believable, great British industry at its best!
    That's saved me a £1000 then!

Nah then H.O. talk about fate!
You've ordered a shed that's never going to arrive.
I join the forum and begorrah I've got a brilliant shed for sale that's half the price of the Asgard.
What could be simpler, you hire a van, come down and pick it up and Bobs yer uncle, you've got your shed for the coming winter!
    Happy days and quids in

This shed of mine is modular in length, you can add or leave out panels, basically making it to the length you want. Width remains at 8' though.
There are loads of sheds on the market, you are best going for something you really want and a bit closer to home ideally.
Good luck with your search mate

    Hi Ho,
I have just checked out the Asgard website and it looks really impressive, good facilities, good product range etc. The interesting thing is they are highly ISO accredited
Might pay to remind them of their duty to conform to those ISO standards regarding On Time In Full delivery performance and complete customer satisfaction.
I would raise this as an official customer complaint with their Customer service department.
Funny enough they are based in Bradford West Yorks which is only 8 miles from me.
I might have to try and blag a trip round their facilities and question them about their customer complaint procedure.

Too many 'why's' for me, like why no stock, why such a long time period to make the bloody thing, why does it take so long to get from Bradford to their 'Edinburgh depot' which I think may be in Livingston ( Flexiform Business furniture ltd) where I live at most 3 miles away, and even so Edinburgh's only 7!, so why does it still take days to get from the depot to me?, why send out a possible delivery day, then send another knocking nearly 2 weeks off, then bung another week on during the week its supposed to arrive, why no customer contact asking why I canceled to see if they could fix a problem?
Why does so much of their feedback both on their web site and off state the same complaints especially of 'lead times' which slip back, bad paint, damaged items, it seems the customer is their customer control!
Their pictures of the factory show lines of shed panels made, but still no stock? WTF!!!!
Mick, you say about raising it with their customer service dept, in the very first conversation I had after I ordered it and found out about the 5-6 week 'lead time I mentioned about the complaints and how they replied to them saying they would re reviewing them, I got cut off by her and told 'do you want to cancel then?' just like that!, like its 'how dare you question us!!'
I did complain and got another email of apology from from chap called Housland I think, so I re-ordered.
Then I got the 2 differing delivery dates, seems suspiciously like they intended to stick to the later date any way!
Customer service?????? They don't know what it means, the customer is an inconvenience to them!
Mick, I dont think you would get through the front door, they 'might' let you collect an order from them but don't seem very keen, rather have it bunging up their delivery schedule along with the rest of the back logged orders.
Such a shame, I was looking forward to getting it, but I wont be buggered about, I'm the customer!
I would not recommend this company to any one.

I can well imagine why you are so pissed off and frustrated.
I find it unbelievable that a British manufacturing company can behave so appalingly.
I will use this example as "How not to treat customers" when I speak with my manufacturing colleagues.
Truly shocking and gets British manufacturing a BAD name.
Try and put it down to a bad experience and move forward mate.

Yes Mick, its alright saying move on but ironically 'in theory' its the best bike shed of it type out there and at the price!
One thing makes me wonder though is that they changed the locks after the accreditation, I wonder if its still valid for those locks?

Well there's only two choices if you definitely need a shed.
    1) if you really really want that particular shed that bad, go ahead with the purchase, within a few days of getting it you will forget about all the hassle, providing it is that good!
    2) Forget the bastard thing and buy a different shed.

Another option is a good quality fitted cover. JTD top of the range at £45 on Amazon
I have one and it is brilliant
