i think i was less than £150 for my 2 bikes,a lot depends on your age and your post code though

If your post code is a decent one and your bike is garaged overnight then it should be around 180 mark. Then again I read yesterday that insurance providers have increased their prices by 10 - 17% :-(.

If you have just bought the policy then you have 14 days cooling off period. Try....go compare or confused.com. You might find cheaper deals

Sounds a bit pricey at £250 with your no claims etc.
Try Bennetts who specialise in bike insurance.
I have full no claims on my car but had to start from scratch with the bike last year and mine was £173 for the Bonnie.
As the lads have said, post code, garage, age, annual mileage, overseas use, intended use etc all come into play.

and pillions, if you never take a pillion, drop it from the policy. Also watch for things like "legal protection" which you may be covered for elsewhere, no point in paying twice.

Carol Nash did a decent price for my Gixxer 1000 with the complete mods declared ..fully comp..350. I was 39 and had full no claims bonus.

Yearly mileage plays a big part too. Some benefits are attached to the policy n others are bolt on ones with added cost. So like others have said if you don't need it remove those benefits.

I had a 2003 Sprint ST which I got for £85 per year with Bennets, however my brand new Speed Trip R comes in at £280-4 years no claim, 40 years old with pillion cover.
Thought this was a bit much so hope it drops a bit next year.....

Sounds a bit pricey to me. Mine worked out at around £140 upgrading a policy from a street to a speed triple from Bennetts, although I have got 9+ years NCD

Isn't it weird how different people have such different experiences Devitts were (with me) bloody awful and so I went to Bennetts who so far have been brill. Such a shame tho that loyalty nowadays counts for nothing ..... anyone else watch #ripoffbritain

Go on a price comparison sight, and change things like mileage etc.
When I put down 4K per year, the price went down when changed to 5k, and back up again when I put 6k (work that out)
Also on some sights it went up when I put down the 'bike safe' course?

My advice now for what it is worth is just enjoy your riding, forget about it now till next year and then "shop around" using the comparison sites.
Trying to cancel, claiming your money back, taking out another policy etc. might be more trouble than it's worth.
Have to say though, Bennetts came up trumps for me.

bloody insurance is nothing but a almighty con...... on several occasions I've managed big savings by shopping around with comparison sites...... and a couple of times ended up with a policy from the same company who had increased their premium sending me on a better priced search !

Also in my experience insurers are very keen to get you to specify security items e.g. chain, ground anchor, disc lock, etc. However when checking I've found they are giving no discount for them (the bike is garaged), so I refuse to have them specified in the policy (even though I use them most the time), just adds the possibility of giving them a cop-out in the event of theft. Also watch out for confusions over immobilizer / alarms, latest SpeedIII's are factory fitted with immobilizer, insurer mistook this for the accessory alarm.....until I corrected them.

Including European cover doubles my yearly premium to £220 approx. If I didn't have my annual sojourn to The Alps I'd only need to pay around £100 per year. Full no claims, no convictions, 51.

Does your £250 premium include European Cover ? .. if you don't need it make sure you're not paying extra for it.
