    Hello Everyone

Do any of you get any helmet life when you get on the torque!!!

I have Shoei XR1100. Have owned for just under 2 Years. I have done 150MPH + on German Autoban on my K6 1000 and never had problems with the lid.

Now on the speed triple when I open her up, I seem to get a slight lift on the lid. The fitting is perfect going through all the usual tests!!! I have changed the pads from 35mm to 39mm and still the problem exists. Maybe it's the wrong lid for a naked bike.

Do any of you own Shoei XR 1100 and experience this issue?

Do any of you own other good fitting lids and still experience lifting at high speed?

    Thank you all

I've got a Shark SpeedR which is supposed to be for naked bikes but it would either lift or press against my chin depending on whether I was looking up or down.

Exactly the problem I am facing. Either lift or press. Thanks roadrider. I am thinking maybe I don't have a Shoei head :-(

I love my XR1100 and have no probs with it at all :) far better than my Arai RX7RR. My mate has the new Arai Rebel and rely rates that :D

I have the Shark 900s and on motorway speeds it is fine.
The fit was a tad tight when new, but is just perfect now, so long as I tighten the chin strap securley

It is only above motorway speeds I get the pressure on the forehead from the wind force, but that isnt the helmets fault.
    Never had any lift problems

Thanks people. I have 2 lids already. My Bell M6 is perfect and I cannot fault it in any way. I was looking at the Rebel but can't justify buying another lid :-(. Maybe I'll try 41mm cheek pads instead of the 39mm which I have at the moment. I would like to get good use out of my XR11 for atleast another 2-3 years.

I have had XR1100 for four years and love it, I'm also on my second Speedy and love that too but I do get a bit of lift, not much but it's manageable, had the screen on the first bike and found it made it a bit worse but a tank bag improves it, go figure....

I guess everything is a trial and error. My local bike shop has 41mm so I'll give it a go tomorrow. I just hope it's a 30 quid well spent. On Saturday I've to do a 450 miles bike trip. Let's hope it works.

Ok here we go. The helmet is snug n doesn't lift BIT now I'm getting a little leak through the visor. So annoying. I need to adjust the base plates. I hate touching them as they are a pain to get it right. If I had the I'll just grab the arai rebel n be done with it. Ah well. ..I guess keep adjusting n hopefully it will fall into place :)

you sure you haven't pushed the lock lever the other way as that stops the visor closing by a hair. the visors on the xr's are normally very good as they are spring loaded so should be self seating.

    Quick risk assessment conducted.
Remove the risk and buy a Triumph Dolomite, no helmet required and you can still stay in th forum.
    Sorted!
