Looking very nice jimlowe, if only Triumph had produced them way back in the day when I was a lad, still we had Yamaha RD`s and Suzuki GT`s, (and the memory mist come downs and Mark returns to his boyhood and the smell of a two strokes,) those were the days, sigh.
This is more to do with yesterday but I didn't get back until about 10:30pm and needed a sherbert. Left home at about 8:15am and went on a little jaunt - 800kms round trip south and into the Lot & Garonne area of France down to see my sister. A fair bit motorway but one of the nicest autoroutes I've been on for many a year with rolling, sweeping tarmac and almost no traffic. The last section - about 100kms - was tight, nadgery, D roads sweepy swoopy stuff - all under blue skies with Simpson clouds and 25°. JUST A BLOODY SHAME I HAD TO GO IN THE CAR. Couldn't really take my sis out of hospital on the back off me bike - OR COULD I ???????????
Nice one biglad, I guess it would all depend on why your sister was in hospital. Many strange things have happened on the back of a bike,,lol
Well today I got the polish out. Friendly word of warning to you all about the use of chemical cleaners... Sprayed the bike down with mucoff, but left it quite a while before washing. Couple of hours actually. Easily distracted see. At least that's what my maths teacher said... Turns out he was right. Damn stuff has left some bad streaking marks on the anodised parts mainly, but some painted parts too - espesh the triumph bar end mirrors, and the worse bits look a bit like an iridium finish!!! So by all means use the stuff boys and girls, but DONT leave it on to soak. Anyway, out came the black t cut type polish and thankfully it looks like it's gonna be ok. Well, the mirrors have come up ok so hopefully the rest won't be far behind. 30 years a biker and STILL making simple mistakes. Will I EVER learn??? ATB Bob
Just pottering around the Scottish Borders..... no particular place to go..... nice weather, bike goes forever on a tenners worth of fuel, what's not to like
Fitted short tapered tor exhausts and appropriate map this afternoon to my triumph america. My first reaction is that in spite of the you tube videos it's louder than I expected. I'll await the wife's reaction Andy
