When I went to purchase my bike I told the previous owner that I will need time to organise a Van to bring all the OEM exhausts and other bits back. The seller assured me not to bother as he will post everything at his own expense. Anyways I took his word now it's been almost 2 weeks and he is telling me that he is having issues with Royal Mail and so on. What can I say....if he doesn't want give me those parts then I guess I paid around £150 too much. Story of my life. I am still holding on to the hope it will come through. He seemed like a nice chap. I will wait another few weeks and see what happens :-(

I found it on eBay but paid cash as that's how he wanted to complete the transaction. He lives in Liskeard. As DM said I want to give him every opportunity to do the right thing. I'll drop him a text. He says RM didn't have my address and he has asked them to send it back to him. Let's wait and see. Regardless thank you guys for your support:)

As you say give him a chance, But seem's very funny for anybody to post bits on at there own expense and if that
includes original exhausts then it all adds up to a considerable weight !!!
My honest opinion is - There not coming your way !! sorry but just my thought

I will personally cover the postage. It this gets to you , I can send the funds through PayPal as friends and family. Once you have got the funds you can get it couriered for me. I really appreciate your help buddy:)

I think by the sound of it he took him at face value, as a decent chap !!! I doubt anything in writing regarding parts etc hopefully he got some kind of receipt for the bike,
We all have to go there or have been there at some time or another, a lesson learned I hope :cool:

He texted me today to say he has received the goods from RM. I have asked him to hold until I decide how to proceed. I can always tell him Triumph Mafia are on their way to collect ;-)

I probably will never hear from him or ever see my goods :).

Atleast he turned out to be a good chap n I haven't once accused or been rude to him. I don't want to speak too soon.

    PABS .....message sent ;-)

I hope everything works out for you R_1000, treat it as a lesson learnt ;)

On one of the classic clubs/forums that I'm a member of have a club relay system.
As an example of how it works. A club member who lives in Hampshire requested on the forum if anyone could pick up a wheel for him that he had won and paid for on eBay from Warrington, Cheshire. I replied, got the sellers details and contacted him to arrange the pick up.
I picked up the wheel which was a 30 mile round trip for me and stored it at home for a few weeks until I went to the Stafford Classic Show. At the Stafford show I met up with another club member who lives in Wiltshire who took the wheel and the purchaser collected the wheel from him.
    Job done and everyone :):)

    Dave.

^^ That was nice Dave and he got his bits. You guys have been a tremendous help. I have dropped the guy a text and waiting to here from him. I just hope it works out ok. Going forward I guess I need to be more switched on. I would never mess anyone about for any reason. 10 years ago my mate who was jobless crashed my cousins bike (the bike was given to me temporarily to be looked after). I didn't hear from my mate for over a month and I never once called him to ask about money. Anyways I had a TLS at that time and I put my bike up for sale as I had to settle the funds to my cousin. Somehow my mate found about it and came rushing and screaming at me and made me remove the ad. He got himself a job at the courier company and he every month he paid my cousin 500 pounds and settled the bill. I value people and I always try to see the good in them. That's what happened here too and I would like to think he genuinely had problems getting the gear to me. I know my thread title says.....I have been conned. It's purely out of frustration ;-)
